I need this to deter unfriendly neighbors. this will work on humans, right? and does it only work while indoors?

How loud is the alarm?

Allow me to clarify: High setting is as loud as a fire alarm going off IN your apartment Low setting is as loud as the fire alarm going off down your apartment hallway (softer by 30-40%)
