The Keep Warm setting is approximately 165 - 170 degrees F. Both the Low & High settings cook at 215 degrees F., but they cycle differently. Therefore, the High setting will still cook the food in a shorter period of time than the Low setting will. Please remember that these are all approximate temperatures and they can vary depending on what you are cooking.

what does manual mean?

This item was a gift for my daughter, but I believe 'manual' means that you have to physically turn the knob to one of the settings. It does not automatically revert to warm because there is no timer. Hope this helps.

Will this be good to take to college with me? I don't want something to big or too small, and it needs to be easy to clean.

It will be perfect size. Easy to clean because of smaller size. Good for cooking smaller meals.

The time it takes for the Slow Cooker to reach temperature on the warm setting can vary depending on the food that is being warmed. It can take as long as 5 hours to reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Please note that the Warm setting is not for cooking and should only be used to keep previously cooked food that is already at the right temperature warm until ready to serve.
