Does it work with a non Gear VR headset?

No. Even though the description said it would work with the phone I have, it requires Oculus, which requires the Samsung Gear VR headset. I have a different one, so this controller is going back.

Can this remote be paird to the 2016 gear VR

Works with mine Gear VR that I got at GS7 launch in early 2016

Can you use two controllers in the style of htc vive?

No. Just one at the moment. Hopefully future updates will include that. Right now its more of a single laser pointer than anything else.

Has anyone received the free game bundle?

I hadn't received my game bundle either, but I reached out to Amazon and they sent me the redemption code to obtain the games. NOTE, this game bundle is offered through Amazon, not Samsung (even though Samsung has a similar offer). Once you have the code, launch Oculus on your phone (not through VR headset), then go to "More > Redeem Code".
