Oribe is filled with harsh Sulphates why is this?

Oribe products do not contain any harsh sulfates. When people talk about sulfates in hair care, they are primarily referring to sulfate-based ingredients that work as cleansers (surfactants) in shampoos, such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). Sulfate-based surfactants can be harsh, stripping natural oils, depleting color and irritating the scalp. Sulfate-free surfactants are typically more mild and less stripping. Sulfates also are responsible for foaming in shampoos, so sulfate-free shampoos also foam less. When Oribe launched 11 years ago before sulfate-free technology was perfected, we created shampoos with gentle sulfates, naturally derived from corn, oat and coconut. As sulfate-free technology evolved and consumer mindsets changed we created all new shampoo formulas with sulfate-free cleansers. All of our products are now sulfate free (SLS and SLES). This shampoo is sulfate-free. There are ingredients with similar looking names to sulfates but they are surfactants, not sulfates. Enjoy!
