You should never ratchet the strap into the turning mechanism to the point it cannot turn anymore. If used properly, the amount of excess would vary with the size of whatever you are securing. **Q: How long is the lead strap connected to the rachet?** A: The lead stripe actually connected to the ratchet is 8 inches long. The hook connected to the lead strap adds another 2 inches for a total of 10 inches. **Q: By the photo, there should be at least 3 different pieces, but the description says 2 different pieces. Which one is correct?** A: I got what you see in the picture three pieces ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Quality *by R***R on 12 December 2023* Good quality and made with strong reliable materials ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product *by A***I on 19 December 2021* Good product ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Affordable and cheap *by M***D on 13 September 2022* Nothing to complain about, although the ratchet strap gets jammed easily if you don’t use the appropriate length for your application. 4 stars, just because I got a cut trying to pull out the excessive strap from the ratchet itself. ## Frequently Bought Together - FORTEM Ratchet Straps, 1650lb Break Strength, 4 Pack 15ft x 1in Tie Down Strap Set, 4 Soft Loops, Motorcycle Straps Tie Downs, Cargo Cam Buckles for Trucks, Rubber Handles, Carry Bag - Cartman 32 Piece Bungee Cords Assortment Jar Includes 10" 18" 24" 32" 40" Bungee Cord with Hooks, 8" Canopy Tarp Ball Ties and Tarp Clips - STANLEY S1007 Black/Yellow 1.5" x 16' Ratchet Tie Down Straps - 1,100 lb Safe Working Load / 3,300 lb Break Strength, 2 Pack --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/257551855-fortem-ratchet-straps-4x-15ft-tie-down-strap-set-4x](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/257551855-fortem-ratchet-straps-4x-15ft-tie-down-strap-set-4x) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
