I'd like to,use with watercolor.** A: I did a waterproof test, and if you let it dry completely for a period of time, it is. If water gets on the ink fairly soon after applied, it does bleed a little bit. **Q: Is this pen refillable?** A: Yes, you can buy refill cartridges. It seems you can also use an ink syringe to refill, but I haven't looked into that. **Q: can it be refilled?** A: Yes, you can buy refill ink cartridges. The grey part of the pen is the cartridge. The refill cartridges are sold on amazon. **Q: Does anyone know what this sort of ink is? it dries with such a matte finish that i assumed it was india or sumi, but i'm not quite sure.** A: Absolutely NOT India ink. That will clog the pen. Use a good pigment ink like Pilot Yama Guri or Platinum Carbon. Doesn't feel quality product, but works well and you get really thin lines and you get also very broad lines, just don't move it too fast when writing or drawing. The locking mecanism (the red ring) that you need to take out every time you start to write, is a bit cumbersome.
