It works best with a very sharp razor blade - I use Feather shaving blades with this razor and get a very smooth, efficient shave with no nicks or cuts or razor burn. The razor is very well made and it is well machined - the tactile feel while holding it and while shaving is very good. The handle is nice and grippy and long enough to maintain a nice even pressure while shaving.
