They were a mess. So keeping them short was key. As I entered my 50s, they became even more brittle and very ridged. This product, OMG, game changer! I followed instructions and now have NAILS! I cant stop looking at them all the time, in awe, because of this product. I still keep them on the shorter side because I don't like LONG nails. On clean nails, I apply 2 coats on day one, 1 coat on days two and three and 1 coat on day 5..all on top of the previous layer. By day 7, there's a pretty thick layer that starts to peel up, which is perfect because I just pull whole layer off in one piece. No need to use nail polish remover ever. I let them air out on Day 7 with heavy nail moisturizer (Hard As Hoof). Then start it all over again the next day! Im on my 2nd bottle now and just ordered 3 more. Do that every time and your nails will grow so strong and long you’ll be amazed. My friend who is a nail tech calls it liquid gold! And always use Formula 2. **Q: does nailtiques help nails with ridges** A: I don't think it will help with ridges. I have a ridge on one of my nails and that really hasn't changed. No more splitting or peeling but the ridge is still there. **Q: Can I use Nailtiques on my new gel manicure for extra protection** A: Hi, yes off course it's wonderful to protect the nail polish to last longer. I swear by it, when I use other clear top coats nothing works like Nailtiques. **Q: Can you use this on top of nail polish?** A: I do! And I will tell you that it majorly improves the quality of even the most schlocky polish! A polish that wouldn't last 2 days without chipping without Nailtiques on top has lasted me up to 2 weeks with Nailtiques. And makes it super shiny too! I will reapply the Nailtiques if the polish starts to wear off on the edges and it seems to pull it all back together and seal it again for a while - especially after pool PT for example. I don't know if the layers of Nailtiques that go on top of the polish have any effect on the nail that underneath it or not, but while its all on there it is still stronger (if that makes sense?) Tonight I put one coat & will do a second tomorrow before I apply the color polish. I'm thinking the 2 coats on the raw nail will be more effective at actually healing the strength of the nail itself. This stuff IS TRULY AMAZING! My nails would split in layers whenever they got just a tiny bit long. And they were so soft they'd just tear. I started out putting on two coats on bare nails then adding a coat per day, taking it all off once a week. I did that for several weeks until my nails felt significantly better and stronger. I have tried so many other products out on the market for years and years and nothing has worked like this!
