Unscrew the panel on back with a teeny tiny screwdriver. Then you can put the batteries in. Turn it to "A" and hold down the "REC" button while you speak (up to 10 seconds). Then press "play".

How long will it play at once? If I leave it with him.

Are Modes A & B only different playback modes or can user also record a separate message on each Mode and then play each message back 2 ways?

No, you can't record separate messages. The message is the same on a and b. Other than that, this is a fantastic little device. It's way better than I imagined it to be. And the batteries last forever, even if you're playing it for hours and hours every day. I would definitely buy it again, if this one ever wears out.

Device not working at all

When I received the device, I turned it on, but the device never worked and did not issue any response, knowing that I used the same batteries that came with it and put new batteries, but the same problem, I received the product on Friday and returned it the second day, a bad experience. I advise those who want to buy to go to an actual store and try piece before taking it.
