This amazing humidifier is THE one to get!
We’ve gone through four humidifiers over the years that were noisy, expensive, bulky, and a huge hassle with the filters, the solution you had to add to the water, the distilled water, constantly breaking the stupid thing down to clean, and they were ugly! This one is less than half the size, looks nice, almost completely silent, no hassle, just add some water from time to time. This has helped our elderly cat’s breathing quite a bit. THIS is what all humidifiers should be like. I wish I had this one 30 years ago!

Quiet and Efficient!
This is my second humidifier of this same brand and model. Using them has enhanced my use of lubricating eye drops, and between them they are helping alleviate my dry eye issue. I use only distilled water but you can also use tap water or purified water. If you use tap water, you will need to empty the water and clean all the parts that get wet every day! Otherwise, mineral deposits build up and reduce both the efficiency of the product as well as the purity of the mist. It's very easy to use, and can be paired with an app to enable remote control ability through a smart phone. Frankly, it's so easy to use manually that I don't bother with yet another app! It isn't hard to clean this humidifier but there are quite a few parts to clean, which is one reason I use only distilled water! You don't get the mineral deposit build up and cleaning can be done much less frequently. How reliable this humidifier is over time remains to be seen. I've only been using one for about 10 days and the second one just arrived today. If one or the other craters in a month or two, I will update my review.

Great purchase
Easy set up, the humidifier is quiet and efficient. I love that it has auto mode so it will shut off after reaching the set humidity. Also features a night mode with no front display, as well as a night light if needed.

Awesome humidifier, imperfect for cleaning - Review after 3 years of ownership
The 300S really is an excellent humidifier and a great value; my only disappointment is it isn't quite as easy to clean as advertised, as there are parts of the humidifier than remain inaccessible (and have pink mold on them) that drive me a little nuts. This thing really packs a punch for humidification - on a high setting, it can really humidify a space significantly. It's even set off my daughter's smoke alarm because of how misty it made the room, ha. It also holds more water than it looks - I live in a very dry climate and on a relatively high setting (target 54% RH in our roughly 15-20% RH home) we get two full nights out of it.The only disappointment has been the cleaning - I read many reviews before purchasing saying how easy it is to clean, how accessible everything is, etc. etc. and all I can say is there must be some really hard to clean humidifiers out there if this is one of the easiest. I've included a photo of its condition after more than 2 years of use, and you can see there is some mineral buildup at the black seal in the base and around the bottom of the mist tube, but, I also don't bother with distilled water and supplement with little 'cleaning fish' (https://a.co/d/6TQEFNb) to help with mineral buildup. So after two years, it's not terrible and mostly on me for not wanting to buy distilled water ;) My real beef is with the mist tube - there's an impossibly narrow and distant part near the base and I have yet to find a cleaning brush narrow and long enough to clean the pink mold out that forms between the tube and its little insert. I've honestly considered buying a waterpik just to 'powerwash' the thing; my kitchen faucet sprayer on max isn't strong enough to blast it off. There aren't many parts to take apart when cleaning but I actually wish it broke down into more so I could access that thing. The other trouble with cleaning is - at least per the instructions - you do a 15-minute soak with 3 cups or vinegar, and then a second 15-minute soak for two small pieces that you just soaked already. So if you're following the instructions, you're married to a 30 minute+ cleaning session. I generally do the first soak, then dump the same vinegar back into the measuring cup with the two small pieces in it, and start cleaning the tank and base while those sit there. I rarely have the patience to wait out the next 15 minutes, but it's still about a 25+ minute job in the end. I use a baby brush and the longest, narrowest wire brush I can find in addition to the small 'looped' brush to clean all the nooks and crannies. Keeping gallons of vinegar stocked for this is a bit of a bummer too.Now all that said - per above this thing REALLY works, which is huge. It's also got just about any feature a person would want out of a humidifier - it has Bluetooth capability with an app but you can also work the intuitive controls without one. You can add essential oils in a little absorbent pad that lives in a small 'drawer' if that's your thing. It's got an optional timer, an optional nightlight, low/medium/high and auto mode and you can set the desired %RH with an app. I believe the hygrometer is on the bottom, so if you've just cleaned it and it gets wet it may be a little out of whack that night. And it's surprisingly quiet.Even if this cost a lot more it would still be an excellent value - my cleaning neuroses aside, it's an excellent appliance and has lasted us three years and still works great, despite my not using any distilled water. Just be prepared for the cleaning. ;)

Works well, easy to clean, highly recommended
Bought this humidifier based on NYT Wirecutter recommendation. My bedroom is particularly dry over the winter time, so I needed something to bring the humidity level up. This humidifier works great. Easy to set up and run. My bedroom is about 12 x 15 with a cathedral ceiling, and the machine successfully raises the humidity from 30-35% to 45-50% and keeps it at that level over the 8 hours I'm sleeping. I fill the tank with a gallon of distilled water, and I'm able to run it about 2 nights before the water runs out. The noise level is noticeable when it is on, but not very loud. I usually run a white noise machine at night anyway which completely covers any sound the humidifier makes. I do recommend using the heated steam setting over the winter as it seems to make the room more comfortable. As for cleaning, I've had the humidifier about a month, and I've just been emptying the tank every 2 days, taking it apart (which is quite easy), wiping down the parts with a microfiber cloth, and then letting it air dry over the course of the day. That seems to work well. I do plan on doing a deeper cleaning after a month probably following the recommendations made by Wirecutter for how to do that. You have the option to use essential oils if you want to try aromatherapy, however, I've not tried that, and I'm not sure how healthy that would be for overnight use.You can use an app with the machine which gives you better control over the machine (like finer grain control of humidity settings and options to turn off display), but it's not required. It is pretty easy to set up, and I like being able to use the app on my phone to control it from bed when needed. If you need a humidifier, I highly recommend it.

Easy to clean and maintain
This is must have for anyone with dry skin and sinus issues. Being able to control the mist output is one of my favorite things about this product is, my husband loves how quiet it is and that you can turn off the light at night.

The Cadillac of Humidifiers with Top-Fill Feature, Smart App, and Voice Control
If you're in the market for a humidifier, let me tell you, you can't go wrong with the LEVOIT Humidifier. Not only does it work like a charm, but it also has some fantastic features that make it the Cadillac of humidifiers.First off, let's talk about the size. This thing is perfect for large rooms, so if you're trying to humidify a small closet, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you're like me and you need something to cover a lot of square footage, this is the humidifier for you.One thing I absolutely love about this humidifier is the top-fill feature. It's so much easier than having to unscrew the bottom and fill it up from there. With the LEVOIT, you simply remove the lid and pour in your water. It's that simple. But wait, there's more! This humidifier also doubles as an essential oil diffuser. I love adding a few drops of lavender or eucalyptus to the water and letting it fill my bedroom with a delightful scent. It's like having a spa in my own home! Now let's talk about the smart app and voice control. Yes, you read that right. You can control this humidifier with your voice! I feel like I'm living in the future every time I tell Alexa to turn on my humidifier. Plus, the app allows you to set your desired humidity level and even track the humidity levels in your room over time. Talk about high-tech!And if you're worried about noise, fear not. This humidifier has a quiet sleep mode, so you can leave it running all night without it disturbing your slumber. In fact, I find the white noise it produces to be quite soothing.Overall, I highly recommend the LEVOIT Humidifier. It's powerful, convenient, and even a little bit fancy with all its high-tech features. So go ahead and treat yourself (and your plants and baby) to a little extra moisture in the air. You won't regret it!1. Choose the right size: Make sure to choose a humidifier that is the right size for the room. A unit that is too small will not be effective, while one that is too large can lead to excess moisture and mold growth.2. Use distilled water: Using distilled water in your humidifier can help prevent mineral buildup and bacteria growth.3. Clean regularly: Regular cleaning is important to prevent bacteria and mold growth. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and disinfecting your humidifier.4. Change filters: If your humidifier has a filter, make sure to change it regularly according to the manufacturer's instructions.5. Control humidity levels: Use a hygrometer to measure the humidity levels in the room and adjust the humidifier accordingly. A humidity level of 30-50% is generally recommended.6. Use the right type of water: Depending on the type of humidifier you have, you may need to use a specific type of water. For example, ultrasonic humidifiers may require demineralized water.7. Place in a safe location: Make sure to place your humidifier in a safe location, away from electrical outlets and other hazards. Also, keep it out of reach of children and pets.8. Use essential oils safely: If you want to add essential oils to your humidifier, make sure to use ones that are safe for use with humidifiers and follow the manufacturer's instructions.9. Empty the tank when not in use: If you are not using your humidifier for an extended period of time, make sure to empty the tank and clean it thoroughly before storing.10. Use as directed: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and maintenance of your humidifier to ensure safe and effective operation.

Update 3/21/24: Tank Leaking - Neat Humidifier-Super easy to use and set up with app/phone
Update 9/26/24: After my old humidifier started leaking and died, I bought the LEVOIT OasisMist 1000S. This one has the entire tank at the bottom (which is huge, holds 10liters of water) and the top part that has the screen/humidifier parts that you can remove from the bottom/tank. The tank is just one piece of plastic instead of multiple pieces like my old one so I highly doubt it will end up leaking (knock on wood!). I think I would recommend this one, just because I know the tank is a lot more sturdy than the other one, the tank holds a lot more water (I refill every other day), and it does all the same things the other one did (control with your phone, that kind of stuff). I’ll update if something happens to this one lolUpdate 3/21/24: Pretty bummed because I really liked this humidifier (I purchased the 300s) but the tank started leaking a few days ago. Bought it and been using it since last November pretty much 24/7 except when I would leave to go out (if I would remember to turn it off lol). The other day I noticed the humidifier was showing the reading of 85% humidity which I knew was way off since I live in Colorado and even when I have the humidifier turned on it rarely gets up to 40% in my room. I noticed there was water all around the tank and on my carpet and I read that off readings on the humidifier was due to the sensor getting wet so I emptied the tank, cleaned the entire thing out plus the base and let it dry for a Cpl hours then filled it back up and ran it again. The % this time wasn’t as high but still off and the next hour or so it kept going down until it got to 40% but then I noticed it going back up. Went to check on it and water was all over the tank again so I knew there definitely was a leak. Put the (almost) full tank in my sink and the next morning there was only 1/4 water left in it. I’m thinking the water is leaking out from where the clear plastic on the sides meets the white plastic on the bottom of the tank. So I’m going to have to change my review from 5 stars to 2 because I only got a couple months out of it before it died. Still going to give it a 2 though because I really did like this humidifier. Being able to control and adjust the settings easily with my phone and it was super easy to clean. Just wish it the tank didn’t start leaking! Also btw in my previous review I said I didn’t notice any sediment/gunk forming in the bottom. I eventually did but it was easy to clean off in the sink with some warm water and a non-abrasive scrub brush. I definitely think changing the filters regularly helped keep that stuff from forming. I’m not so sure about the humidifier drops but I’ll still use them in my next humidifier I just purchased.————Love this humidifier. I live in CO where it is super dry especially during winter. I used a couple different ones but they always ended up with gunk/sediment in the bottom so I had to get rid of them. I know it’s better to use distilled water but I’m not paying for distilled water when I have to refill my humidifier every night.I didn’t use one last year and this year my nose and throat were so dry, I was getting nose bleeds and my throat hurt so bad I thought I was actually sick but decided to try a humidifier first to see if it would help. I liked this one because I could control it with my phone and it showed the humidity levels. After plugging it in it showed my rooms humidity level was 30% and having it on for 30 min my nose and throat felt so much better.I like how you can just pick up the tank from the bottom part, carry it to the sink then remove the lid and fill it up, really simple and easy. I also like that it has a filter (and options to buy more) because after a few refills I can see the filter start to change color so I feel like that’s helping keep gunk out from the bottom. I haven’t noticed any gunk/sediment and I’ve been using it continuously now for about two months but I also put “humidifier drops” in the water that I purchased on Amazon that supposedly helps stop buildup. Not sure if that is what’s helping.I also like the app. You can turn the humidifier on or off using the app, set a timer, put it on auto (which will turn off the humidifier at a certain humidity level) or set it on manual (where you choose how much moisture comes out). It also shows what the humidity level has been over time in the room you put the humidifier in and the humidifier itself shows on a little screen in front what the current humidity level is. There’s also a light inside the humidifier they call a “night light” you can turn on or off.All in all it’s a pretty neat humidifier. I guess it depends on how dry it is where you live because mine is set to shut off at 45% humidity and it rarely gets to that level so it’s basically on all the time except when I turn it off when I go out. So I usually have to refill it every night which is kind of a bummer but at least my nose/throat/skin isn’t so crazy dry anymore.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a humidifier that they can control with their phone and is pretty easy to refill and use. App set up and pairing was super easy as well.

Works great!!
Works great for our living room (8x5m)I also got it to work in home assistant.I bought this model specifically for using it in home assistant and because of the good reviews.+: Big tank, silent, clear display, the cats stay away from it, app works great- : You have to create an account (I read somewhere that a credit card is needed. This is not true!).If the company takes down the service, the home assistant integration stops working. All together a great machine!
