So I do a lot of change of directions, stopping, leash drops, etc.. **Q: Does this work with a normal leash? Can you connect it to a neckcollar for "backup" in case the dog gets the headcollar off?** A: I have a hyper Lab/Shepherd 100+ lbs and I do not loop the leash through her regular collar, I only attach to the Gentle Leader. Yes she can pull it off of her nose with her paws if I don't have it adjusted correctly but the neck portion still holds just fine. This head collar is a fantastic training tool and stopped her from pulling within 30 seconds on the first use... now she knows that when the head collar is on she is not supposed to pull. She does still pull some with the normal collar and leash... we're working on that. This head collar is not a substitute for obedience training... if your dog is not trained and doesn't listen to what you tell it you have more to deal with than just pulling at the leash and you should see a professional dog trainer to curb other bad habits like chasing or aggression. **Q: Is this noseloop padded like the gentle leader deluxe is?** A: I'm not familiar with the deluxe, but this one has some very light padding on the nose part, it isn't a totally bare strap. But I'm not really sure what you define as padding. **Q: I have a mini schnauzer she weighs 10 lbs. How do know what size? My Golden retriever is a 40 kg muscular machine..once he decides to pull ..no one on earth can stop him...
