Great Box, but….
The latch that holds the cover closed is really REALLY TIGHT! There is a slot for a screwdriver to pop it open but when you first get it out of the box the latch is so tight that you will damage the cover prying it open. I called Raco and Garrett explained to that the latch should be oiled a tiny bit and cycled by hand (uninstalled) many times to reduce the force needed to open the cover. If you turn the cover over and put your thumb(s) on the underside and press really hard you can pop it open. I have arthritis so I had to tap it with a screwdriver and hammer to get it open the first time. I then oiled it and was able to open and close it with my weak old hands. After about 20 cycles it was much easier to open and the prying method worked easily then. They’re really nice boxes and the covers are really well made and look great when installed.

Great Quality & Will Make Your Floor Outlets Work
When we moved into our new apartment we had this terrible, ugly, cheap floor box with tabs that you had to flip up to get access to the outlets. That means you have the tabs, the plugs and the cable NOT flush to the floor, easy to trip over and impossible to move furniture over. This takes a little more effort to install. I paid for a professional electrician to put it in. What is above the floor now is no higher than the height of the power strip as it lays on the floor. It is tucked away under our bookshelf, unseen, and providing power to my whole entertainment center. When we give our apartment back to the landlord, the clean and beautiful look of this brass, flush floor, recessed outlet box, there will be nothing for them to object to. Can you even find it in the picture?

Best price and possibly best finish (NICE socket covers!) I've seen in a floor box
After my supplier failed once on sending the right in-floor box for surface mounting onto a finished wood floor (as opposed to setting onto sub-floor), and then failed again by special-ordering a $180 product more suited to high-rises (if anything at all), this box is well-made, installs on finished floors (and other situations, see manufacturer information), and has possibly the best socket cover mechanism I've seen in a floor box. The covers snap open with a strong finger-nail or most anything hard (compared to many that require a tool), remain captive to the box (won't get lost like some others out there), and OPEN IN EITHER DIRECTION (reversible flap direction proved to be a life-saver, since I hadn't considered this when I installed the base near a wall: as it turned out, that didn't matter)!

Well manufactured easy to install
I like how well it fits and looks. The only thing that prevents me from giving the device 5 stars is that they shipped it with only two screws. Now I have to match the screws which is not easy done. It was nice not to have to go out and find all the pieces to get the job done. Except for the screws!! A note the plug of the power strip that plugged in stuck out of the slot. I also liked the locking top plate that keeps the plugs trapped.

Not hard to install but takes time.
Please turn off breaker before you begin this project. The first step is to find a suitable location for the floor outlet with another outlet nearby by using a 14 gauge Romex to piggyback from. Next, cut the floor. I used a jigsaw for this project. It makes cutting easier. Have shop vac ready! You don’t need to use all the screws but make sure it’s not loose. Wire everything correctly, and use receptacle tester to check. Adjust the side screws so the floor box cover can fit into the junction box. Don’t forget the gasket! Next, screw in the four screws for the cover, but I only use two. LASTLY, enjoy the fruit of your labor. P.S. You can also pay a handyman $150-$200, material not included.

Well designed, very innovative
Seems very well made, adjustable for many subfloor heights. A little higher profile than I was thinking, but it's going under a couch so will never be an issue.

Sitting flush?
Works great, if yours isn’t sitting flush with the floor, widen your hole a bit, it could be pinching the brackets on either side which caused a clearance problem for me. Trimmed a little more on each side and boom fit perfect. When you screw or in it also will synch everything down. This is solid, looks great.

Classy, solid, and relatively easy to install
The quality of the outlet is obvious as soon as you pick up the box; it is heavy and the top cover is a very solid brass. It would be nice if the included template was made of cardboard (vs being part of the paper instruction sheet), but not that big of a deal. Relatively easy to install if you are comfortable cutting a hole in your floor. Easy to adjust the height of the outlet in the floor to make sure it presses up tightly against the outlet. If using a jigsaw, I find it best to cut a small golf-ball sized hole in a larger piece of cardboard to protect the finished floor from marring by the bottom of your jigsaw, although it could just be my jigsaw that likes to scratch up things. One note that I think others have also mentioned: it takes a great deal of force/leverage to open the cover. Maybe this gets more loose with time, but as we just installed them it takes a screwdriver to open the flap. This makes it really great for keeping things plugged in, like a lamp, but not so great if you want to flop down on the couch and reach down to plug in your phone (unless you keep the flap open, which kind of defeats the sleek and unobtrusive point of having this outlet.

Very nice outlet with great safety feature.
I bought 4 of these to install in a 3 season sun-room. The first one was very difficult, the box is very deep so getting the wires in and hooked up was hard, plus they are too deep for the plastic vapour barrier. I learned from the first one so for the second one, I allowed enough wire to hook everything up out side the hole in the floor. I also took the plastic vapour barrier box and made it 2 inches longer using tuck tape and this worked great. Make sure to use the exact size the template gives you as there is no room for error. By the time I got to the forth one, it was easy. These look great and are very functional. the top protects the plugs if not being used and hides the cords for those in use. Really glad I bought them.
