*EDIT: This review was written before being invited to be a Vine Voice. I paid for it myself, it was not sent to me to review* Neither of the two PCs talked about below came with Bluetooth, hence needing a Bluetooth dongle. Both PCs use Logitech Unifying Dongles for their keyboards and mice, my gaming PC adds an Xbox controller dongle and specialist audio dongle. There's a sticker by the Avantree dongle that you cannot miss, it tells you to watch a video and download stuff. I ignored this and promptly plugged it into my work PC. I could not connect the Bluetooth programmable keypad I had bought the dongle for. For my home gaming PC, I followed the instructions, including to NOT plug the dongle in until the software had been downloaded. Whilst the install procedure for me was slightly different to the video guide, it wasn't rocket science to get the Bluetooth dongle working with the keypad. I go back to the office, download the software and..... still cannot get the dongle and keypad working together. I do research, download Bluetooth drivers, still no joy. My conclusion is this: if your PC/laptop didn't come with Bluetooth installed, then you will be missing Bluetooth drivers that would be found in the Device Manager of a PC that came Bluetooth equipped. Plugging in the Avantree dongle before the Avantree software is installed messes things up Of note is that I bought a cheaper dongle before the Avantree and had exactly the same issue with my work PC of the keypad not being recognised. I turned off the Bluetooth of one of the office laptops and successfully used the cheaper dongle with the keypad, hence the conclusion about missing drivers. The cheaper dongle with work PC would connect an old Bluetooth headphone receiver, so I was left scratching my head on this one. I say that to say that maybe the Avantree dongle would work with somethings without software, maybe it wouldn't. But, if you don't put the software in before the dongle, you can't fix it later.

Works really well. I bought this to be able to use a playstation controller on pc and it works perfectly. Once the controller is discoverable you can find it through your pc in devices. No lag and doesn't lose the connection and works from across the room. Really good price and easy to set up. Just plug and play. Really recommend if you need Bluetooth ability on a pc. It's tiny so I would leave it plugged in even if not in use as it would be easy to lose for sure.

This was one of the slighly more expensive BT adaptors , and i think well worth the extra £5. At least Avantree have a decent website. It did not install the first time, yes i followed the install the drivers first process but i had an error saying there was no BT adaptor. Then i tried the plug the USB device in first and then the drivers did install. Initially i had the same old issue of the BT drivers not surviving a reboot. Then after a driver update all worked really well, and the drivers now initialise properly after reboots and PC power ups. I was expecting all of this to be hoenst and am really happy with it. As BT adaptors are these days at this "cheap as chips" pricepoint it is great value. Conected to an XBOX headset, Logi Ergo mouse, and Xbox controller on a windows 10 PC with no issues. I have never been able top connect to the Wacom Intuous Pro tablet, but then BT on them always unreliable for me at least. It worked once for my wacom and after a reboot never again. later update. - sadly after a few days the drivers started playing up again and that was that. After a few sleep mode tranistions or general reboots, i got the "driver not working" error again. you have to uninstall the driver, then do a scan for hardware change, and the drivers seems to come back to life. i suppose for £12 it's not the end of the worls and who knows , maybe it's just the drivers and windows10. I'm over 60 and tech is not easy but this connection to my phone and computer was very easy and also connection to my Bluetooth speaker all found by my devices iv tried others but this was the most straight forward and easy to follow for Windows 11,music quality from speaker was good and clear sound no lag. price was good and packed well overall very good value for price
