Review: Quality, affordable webcam that's been around for years and years - Quite simply, unless you are recording yourself and republishing your recordings someplace where you need 1080p or greater, don't waste you money on pricier webcams. The Logitech C270 webcam is more than sufficient if you are just using it for videoconferencing (Zoom, Teams, etc.). Memaw will recognize you just fine from the image this produces. I've purchased tens of these for employees over the years and one for myself to use at home. It produces a quality 720p image (which is all you need for videoconferencing), has a built-in microphone that does not sound tinny, works without the need to install additional software, is sturdy as a tank and is quite affordable. You can certainly pay a lot more for a webcam, but you probably don't need to.

**Q: will it attached to my pc's monitor??**
A: I just pulled this out of my junk box. and have successfully and easily found that it works with my W-7pro 64b pc and works well with the LWS 2.51 software.
It does hold on LOOSELY to the top of my monitor. The vertical rotation of the head is very limited (up and down). it does NOT have a tripod mount. However, nothing will prevent you from either padding the grip to better fit a thin monitor or from attaching it with an adjustable device.
Since I'm typing, I'll say here that it is a 1.2MP camera; everything is surprisingly in focus, however the slightest movement produces significant ghosting around my image until the motion stops and it then can stabilize. I use a simple background jpeg. This camera is a definite stepdown in all respects to my current C615, however it does similarly work, but with less resolution and speed, and without digital zooming (one generous image size only).

**Q: Does this webcam work with Windows 10**
A: If it doesn't work, first check the Windows Settings Privacy Camera and Microphone to make sure they are not restricted. If still problems, install the driver utility from Logitech for this camera. Then try again. If still problems Open the device manager and find the two instances of the camera under Imaging devices and Sound Video Game Controllers and rollback all the drivers. This should pop the camera into it's own section in the device manager called Camera. If Rollback driver was greyed out, Open the registry editor and add a DWORD32 key called EnableFrameServerMode under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform then restart and rollback the driver.

**Q: Can I tilt and swivel the head?  Does it take digital still photos?**
A: It does not swivel, but it does tilt up and down. I believe you can take still photos with the packaged software.

**Q: How well does it work with Windows 8.1?  Did you need to find different drivers for 8.1?**
A: No additional drivers needed. It works great with Windows 8.1.

honestly i just needed something that would work for online classes and video calls and this delivers without any drama. you just plug it in and it works immediately, no software installation or anything annoying like that. the 720p quality is totally fine for everything i use it for and nobody on zoom is going to care that you are not in 1080p. the built in mic is decent too so you do not need to buy a separate one for basic stuff. great value for the price.
