I've even used for steaming rice (inside of a very large stock pot), and it performed perfectly.Plus, it is really quite rust resistant. I forgot it once, for about a week, inside a pot half-filled with starchy rice water. And not a single spot of rust anywhere! The handles are attached at two spots and on one side, the handle has already come loose. It's still attached (probably not for long) but it sticks out.
