Great product at a great price
Foxy for creating RGB light control boxes, they have worked perfect! I have placed them in metal and plastic and have had no leaks.

Compact and waterproof
I got these to extend an Ethernet connection outside my RV. Due to the wall thickness, I had to fabricate an outside panel to mount the device and secure the small panel to the wall. Except for that, the devices are well designed and constructed, and the attached cover allows sealing the outside jack when traveling or non-use. The design of the outside cable gland allows use with a standard RJ-45 connector, but a snag-proof boot, if fitted, will have to be removed to fit through the hole in the gland cap. Exactly what I needed.

Provides weather sealed pass through portal on our travel trailer.
Work as described. It is weatherproof when not in use and the cap is in place. It is no no longer weatherproof when an RJ-45 is plugged into it.

Excellent for Homebrew Outdoor Equipment Using CAT6 Cables
I routinely use CAT6 Eternet cable to connect shortwave receivers to remote antennas but have always had issues weatherproofing the RJ45 connectors against rain and sunlight. These chassis mount allow complete sealing of the RJ45 connector at both the cable entry into the radio room as well as the remote equipment.

Will not fit over cables with strain relief.
These are not large enough to house RJ45 connectors with strain relief. Will only work on cables without strain relief.
