CAP Barbell Doorway Chin Up Bar

I will focus on the issue that some reviewers mention that the bar rotates or spins, and how this can be avoided. It's important to understand how the bar length is adjusted. The left and right sections of the bar are threaded (screwed) into the center section, with opposite threading directions: one end is clockwise and the other end is counterclockwise. As a result, if the center bar is rotated when both ends are kept from rotating due to being tight against the door frame, then either both ends will get longer, or both ends will get shorter. Therefore, to prevent the center bar from rotating, the bar must be oriented so that the two ends get longer (and therefore tighter) when the top of the bar is rotated toward the person using the bar. Otherwise, the bar will tend to get shorter and looser and will tend to rotate. Now I will discuss the screw (or 2 screws) in the middle of the bar. These are used to secure the outer middle bar to the inner middle bar. The two ends of the bar are screwed into the inner middle bar, so if these screws are removed, the outer middle bar can rotate without rotating the inner middle bar, and thus the bar will not get longer or shorter. However, this allows the outer middle bar to rotate, so the screws should not be removed if you don't want the bar to rotate. I used #8 pan head wood screws for the two brackets. (The bar came with #6 flat head screws.) The pan heads might help prevent the two ends of the bar from rotating against the brackets, by digging into the rubber a little, but I'm not sure this is necessary if the bar is lengthened enough so it's tight against the door frame.

It twist a little bit but honestly if your spending $14 on a pull up bar, you have no room to be picky. Could it be better yes, dose it work like described yes. All in all if I could do it again it might by one that doesn't need to be screwed into the wall, andrisk cracking the doorframe, and spend the extra $10, but it dose work and you get what you pay for.

Great affordable bar. It was coming loose upon use and I realized the middle screw had to come out after tightening. 1. Install mounting rings or rubber knobs ( I only need to rubber knobs since the user is <100lbs). If I was using it I would use the metal brackets. 2. Put the bar between and rotate both ends the same direction to expand it open. 3. Once its tight, remove the center screw. Keep it, youll need it to retighten or remove the bar. With the middle screw out the center rotates freely and does not loosen the bar. With the screw in you can tighten and loosten the bar. ****Remove the middle screw once its up and tight! I dont think this fact was in the instructions.****

Edit: Since the rod has clockwise and counterclockwise threads on either ends, the nuts didn’t work. I ended up drilling two holes through the plastic internal block and screwing some self tapping screws to keep the block from rotating. Better than new! God is Greater! I've owned this for less than 5 months. I'd only use this for dead hangs for stretching. Unfortunately, the plastic block inside the bar stripped its threads. Will attempt to repair by securing block on either side with M10-1.5 nuts. I shouldn't have to, though.

I bought this to support a grooming sling for my 12 lb. dog, wanted bar removable and it didn’t have to support a lot of weight. Per description it is for lighter weight human use. I can’t speak to human use that it was designed to do, but works well for the purpose I intended, easy to install and remove between uses. Sturdy bar for grooming sling and inexpensive.

Is good but little soft and does not hold well on the wooden doors.

Chin up/Situp/Push up. I ordered this on February 7th, 2026 for $14..49, plus $7.51 tax: $22.00. Received February 12th, 2026. 2 feet 10 inches. (86.36 centimeters). Philips head screw driver, I recommend. Drill. Even better. Stay safe you ^².

As a tension rod it works great 👍 and it can hold a lot of wet clothes... Unfortunately, if you want to use it for working out, make sure it has all the parts. Mine arrived with just the rod and one extra piece (as well as instructions, but I didn't see them in the box for almost a week)... The box had opened in shipment and all of the mounting parts had fallen out. Thankfully, I plan to use it to hold laundry and crafts, so I hadn't planned to screw mount it, but if you plan to use as it's intended please note, it's supposed to be screw mounted into your doorway, and the parts should come in the box..

No le tenia mucha fé a este producto y a pesar de que no fue tan fácil de instalar, ha resistido y lo he usado regularmente. Lo vi en una tienda de deportes muchisimo más caro. Fue una buena compra.

Great product. I love it.

Diseño sencillo y práctico. Construcción resistente y de buena calidad. Cumple su función sin problema. Toma un poco de tiempo instalarlo, ya que en mi caso tuve que hacer los seis agujeros en la pared para atornillar las bases y que fuera mas seguro. No recomiendo usarlo sin tornillos, en mi experiencia no se sostiene bien por si solo.
