I bought this for a 1600 mile road trip in May 2024. My only other radar detector was the excellent but really annoying Valentine one gen one (v1) that got stolen from my glove box after the thief broke my window. This has drastically better false alert filtering than the old V1. I love City mode 1 (City plus a dash is indicated). I get pretty much no beeps for automatic doors and most SUVs. Highway mode, it turns on all the detection frequencies. Out of the more than 100 cops that I passed on my trip, yes it was that busy, about 20 of them had their radar guns on. The other 80 plus had them off, so naturally the detector did not go off. Sometimes cops use a feature called instant on radar, where they wait for a speeder to drive by with their radar off, only to turn it on for a couple seconds. If you're on a dark and lonely highway, with no other traffic, guess what will happen with a $1,000 detector and a instant on radar gun. You will get the same ticket as this $55 detector. This detector has noticeably shorter range than my V1 on the highway. But, if you hear a detector go off at 2 mi out or half a mile out, you're going to slow down all the same. This radar detector has a really cheesy mount, but somebody mentioned that there's an aftermarket Mount for it. I will be getting that. And the stock mount is adjustable by either squeezing or opening up the metal to make it level. With a stock Mount, there is a bit of bounce to the detector, but it seems to work just the same. Is this as good as a top-tier detector? No, it was the cheapest model from the last generation. It has limitations in range, but it is way less annoying to use than my old Valentine one. It is an excellent deal for the price, but having said that I plan on keeping this one in the spare car, and buying a uniden r4 for my main car. Remember that most cops do not have their radar gun on when you pass them. Best bang for buck low cost radar detector, from my research the ones in its price range are noticeably worse in operation.

Arrived quicker than stated. Nice sized detector, and it's picking up all radar signals so far. Yet to see a laser triggered reaction yet. I'd recommend this as a "just in case", so you can check your speed if it goes off.

This thing has saved me a lot of money in tickets. I drive around a thousand miles a week, not commercially. I can't tell you the number of times this thing warned me about speed traps that did not show up on Google Maps or Waze. It is sturdy. It does not give off a lot of false alarms, even when driving by stores. It has different modes for Highway and City to reduce false alarms. It is small enough to be in my window yet not too noticeable from the outside. The indicator lights are only visible from directly in front of it. And the black look of it hides its profile well!
