Sylvania Mosaic Flexible LED Light Kit

My husband designed a ceiling light fixture and decided to use LED strip lighting in the tentacles of the design and WOW! These LEDs made this design pop. It looks awesome and wows our clients! What makes this product rise above the rest is the fact that the strips are flexible which permitted a lot more versatility when he was customizing the design. The multiple colors are beautiful and brilliant and includes the classic pure white (the colors are a varied selection of pure colors rather than mixed) . It strobes and fades smoothly which is such a very nice feature. We purchased another LED kit prior to finding this one and couldn't use it for this project. The strip colors were mixed rather than a selection of pure/single colors. So buyer beware. All kits are not equal and the description can be confusing when they use the term multiple colors.

Friend has these in her kitchen under and on top of her cabinets. Having already been using Philips Hue for 3 years, I thought adding these around my bed would be a fun idea. WRONG! The adhesive is coming off where the strips must bend round a corner I tried using the connectors they include, they are too small to make the bend properly. I'lll probably end up ripping them down and throwing them out unless I can find wide 'staples' to hold them up. There is no real way to put these around a bed unless you buy 3 starter kits and I'm just not paying that much money-especially since there's only one outlet available near the bed to accept the plug. However, they do look nice round the entertainment centre/fireplace, under counters, etc.

It does everything it advertises. I do not regret getting it. But I can't use it for the purpose intended, which is to add to my colorful TV room. I have other LED devices that slowly (and dimly) fade from color to color, which sit among my 5 lava-lamps (2 grande sized). So the room is all about mood. But this device is too bright for that (even on it's lowest fade setting) and distracting. Two nights in a row while watching a movie, I had to turn it off (which was easy by the way, thanks to the remote). Note that this was not mounted in front of me, but up to my left side and behind me (on top of a window frame 7' up). It was distracting even in my peripheral vision. Also, it isn't totally smooth: if you can see the actual lights, you can detect the stepping up and down of voltage. But if you use this as others have, like under the bar or something like that, I'm sure it rocks. I'm going to have to find a similar use for it. Another plus: it can be used with timers. I was worried that when the timer powered everything down, it would turn the unit off. The next day, it came back on with everything else. It is built well and comes with 3 flexible connectors for tight corners. One more caveat: it is fixed with mounting tape that is intended to be permanent, not to be moved later, but you can probably find a way to improvise around that issue. Wish: that it didn't use white when it cycles through colors--that one is especially bright. Edit: if you have this plugged into a timer, but have it turned off, when the power comes on, the lights will flash brightly for a half a second, then go out. It's visually like a lightning strike in the next room. Small nit, but it still freaks me out when it happens.

I love working with this style of lighting. The kit works great as long as you have the sensor in a spot that the remote can see it. The colors are wonderful and the four different variable modes work great. I enjoy the slow fade that allows for all 15 different color changes as if with every breath is changes color. Very cool. This is also the least expensive you will find anywhere!

It was an OK product however I did find some products I had longer Length to them and at a cheaper price

The white color temperature is very blue/green. Not pleasing at all. The color fade option was why we bought it however, and that looked ok. The leds flickered a lot on fades. We were willing to live with them until they stopped working after one day. Total junk. Tried a new battery and that didn't fix it. Lights flash when plugged in, but do not respond to remote control. I suspect it is the IR receiver that is bad. Do not buy these.

I used this inside my drum isolation booth at my church and also behind my TV . It gave a nice touch on both locations! I would recommend this product to any one. You can used it anywhere and setting up is very simple.

We have a stone fireplace and used these lights on the 10 ft. mantle. It looks stunning. I am already finding more uses for them like for illuminating our glass block bar.
