Not sure what the 50 stands for. Is this thread 100% cotton?

Cotton thread is made and given a weight and also sometimes a text universal size. We have cotton threads as heavy and thick down to 12 weight that Sulky makes and as light and thin as heirloom cotton 100 weight that YLI makes. This is a 50 weight cotton made by Mettler who has cotton in 28 weight 40 weight 50 weight and 60 weight

Question to the manufacturer: is this thread made of 100% cotton? If so, is it mercerized cotton? Thank you!
