No official seller nor the console manufacturer gets anything from a product sold at retail and then resold for more on the scalper market - because that extra money doesn't go to them at all, so the loss is increased. Amason might not care, but they don't really make much from selling the box, they make way more from games and accessories (which is why they push that stuff hard when you buy a console). Anyone claiming MS or Amazon get anything from the scalper market is exceptionally ignorant - a person who would pay $600-scalper for a Series S is someone who would pay $300 for a console the normal way and then spend a few hundred on games and accessories which is way more profit for all involved.

How is this not in stock yet I was searching for it and nothing would come up??

Best Buy has in stock for 299.99 right now. But they still trying to sale for 400+ what a joke.

Can xbox series s play games in 4k/uhd or it be standard 1080p hd, or both for gaming quality?

Xbox Series S supports gaming resolutions up to 1440p with up to 120 frames per second. Specific resolution and FPS in a particular game depends on what that developer has chosen to target.

is this the same as the xbox series x just smaller?

Thank you for your question. Xbox Series S has most of the power and functionality of Xbox Series X, however it is an all-digital console and does not have an optical drive, has a 512GB internal SSD, and has a maximum output of 1440p resolution.
