Are these rebuilt?........ Why are they all gold as if they were painted?

Most domestic water pumps are painted gold. Most heating water pumps are painted red. Grundfoss makes both. This is a new pump and it works well. I am a licensed master plumber and I installed this pump at my brothers home. Ken

Hi, anyone know the gpm of the grundfos up-15-18 at about 50 psi?

You need to know the feet of head the pump will be working against to determine gpm. The feet of head is found by adding the loss in piping, fittings, valves, water coils and any other items that cause friction loss. The pressure on the system won't tell you anything about the flow rate. The pump curve for this pump shows a flow rate of 15 gpm at 0 ft of head and 0 gpm @ 15 ft of head. You need to know the Ft of head to determine the actual flow rate your installation will deliver.

Is it possible to lower the speed on this? It is causing pinhole leaks in my copper pipes. I don't think it needs to run as fast as it does.

No. You have a grounding problem. Ground your pipes. Also your copper pipes are probably too thin. There are thicker pipes available. Spend the money for quality. And thinking about it running slower is ludicrous. It runs fine just the way it is. It will also last forever. These pumps are the Very Best There Is. Z

why was this item removed from service how long was it used

The old pump was overheating and making an unusual sound. (Kind of a soft gringing noise) It had been in service approimately 10 years.
