## Overview

Flents Protechs Quiet Time Foam Ear Plugs deliver a powerful 33 dB Noise Reduction Rating with soft, adaptive foam designed to fit a variety of ear shapes comfortably. Proper insertion ensures optimal noise blocking, making them a must-have for professionals seeking quiet focus or restful sleep.

## Description

Flents foam earplugs (purple) are a simple, high-value way to turn down noise for sleep, focus, travel, and loud environments, featuring an NRR of 33 (among the highest for foam) to significantly reduce sound, without promising complete silence. They’re especially popular for sleeping with a snoring partner, because they can noticeably muffle snoring and other steady background noise (fans, traffic, neighbors), while most people can still hear important sounds like an alarm at a lower volume (you may just want the alarm a bit louder). Fit matters: these are a cylindrical/barrel-shaped foam plug that many users with average-to-larger ear canals find secure and comfortable for all-night wear, but some shoppers with smaller ears report they feel too large or may slip out, proper insertion makes a big difference, so roll the plug into a tight, thin cylinder, pull your ear up and back, insert, and hold for 20–30 seconds while it expands to create a good seal. Although they’re designed as disposable, many customers reuse each pair multiple times until the foam no longer compresses/expands well or feels less effective, which can make any size pack last for months, depending on your routine and hygiene preferences. They’re also Made in the USA, and while most users have no issues, a few mention a temporary chemical/plastic smell when first opened (airing out for a day often helps), as well as occasional batch-to-batch variation in foam density. As with any wearable product, discontinue use if you notice irritation or sensitivity.

Review: silence is acheiveable perfect comfort plugs - Price is great for the quality and quantity. Quality wise youd think theyd cost per pair or more than what was paid. Premium quality. Careful if you were them to work they are easy for into the ear. Soft/gentle and noise was reduced to 0% after they were inserted and the foam finished rising back to form to the inside of my ear. Must plugs after wearing for sleep or work, basically longer then an hour would cause my ear to throb and sometimes even would have wax in my ear or even drainage. Not with these! Complete comfort easy to insert and fit perfect. I sleep so light and these helped with providing a company silents sleep. they are disposable but I generally can get 2-4 used out of one pair. I do throw the pair away after that though . Decently worth every penny! I will be purchasing again as well as recommend

## Features

- HELPS REDUCE BACKGROUND NOISE: Designed to dampen everyday noise such as conversation, traffic, and general background sound. Ideal for creating a quieter environment for focus or rest. Noise reduction performance varies by user, fit, and environment
- HIGH NRR RATING: Features a tested Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 33 dB, measured under laboratory conditions. Real-world noise reduction depends on proper insertion, ear anatomy, and activity level
- SOFT FOAM DESIGNED TO ADAPT TO MANY EAR SHAPES: Made from lightweight, slow recovery foam that expands to help create a seal inside the ear canal. Comfort and fit may vary between users, especially for extended wear or overnight use. Made without natural latex to ensure safety and comfort for those with latex allergies or sensitivities
- BEST FOR LIGHT TO MODERATE NOISE SITUATIONS: Well-suited for work, studying, travel, and short-term noise exposure. May help with sleep in low to moderate noise environments, but is not recommended for active sleepers or frequent side sleepers due to natural movement while sleeping
- PROPER INSERTION IS KEY FOR PERFORMANCE: For best results, roll the earplug tightly, insert fully into the ear canal, and allow up to 30 seconds to expand. Improper insertion can significantly reduce noise blocking effectiveness and fit. If you have a sensitive ear canal, start with shorter wear periods

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How many times should the ear plugs be used before disposing of them?**
A: I used to re-use them and then was getting ear infections. My doctor said to never use them more than once.

**Q: This may be a silly question but how noise proof are they? Will I be able to hear my alarm clock?**
A: Absolutely! I have been using this product for years now. Its blocks tv, snoring, barking, and other annoying background noise when your trying to sleep. As long as my alarm clock is close to me...perhaps bedside table...you can still hear it.

**Q: A reviewer from 2011 wrote they had changed the design and it is is worse. so is this now back to the original version before that change?**
A: These are less dense and less effective since I bought them in the fall of 2019. They are hardly effective at all anymore. I wish they had not changed these because they used to be awesome. I will not be buying these again.

**Q: How are these any different than the other purple ear plug shown here https://amzn.com/B013WI9188 ?**
A: I can't say what is different with other purple ear plugs. What I can say is that the Flent Qiuet Time variety are very soft/comfortable to wear, easy to insert as the stay compressed long enough to get the plug seated in the ear canal. And they do block most of the sound.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Go-To Ear Plugs for Sleep, Travel, and Everyday Noise
*by R***N on January 21, 2026*

I have personally used these Flents Protechs foam ear plugs(Purple) in several situations and they have become one of those small items I always keep on hand. I use them when I sleep, especially if there is outside noise or early morning activity. I also pack them for travel and hotel stays where noise can be unpredictable, and I use them on airplanes to take the edge off cabin noise. At home, they are great when landscaping or outdoor work gets loud. What I appreciate most is how soft and comfortable they are. I have very sensitive ears and many ear plugs start to hurt after a short time. These compress easily, expand gently, and fit securely without causing pressure or irritation. I can wear them for extended periods, even while sleeping on my side. The noise reduction is effective without feeling overwhelming or uncomfortable. They create a noticeable sense of calm without blocking out everything completely. If you are looking for comfortable, reliable ear plugs for sleep, travel, or daily noise control, these are a great option and one I continue to repurchase and highly recommend.
