Quality, Professional equipment
I use DeWalt and Ryobi battery powered power tools. I am retired , was only using them on occasion.I had Ryobi for many years, before I started up a company I only used the Ryobi driver and drill. After the company fired up, I was using many different Ryobi tools, putting many hours on them, at this point even my oldest ones are still working well. I was checking out the DeWalt driver at store and I liked it's feel and size, so I had to find out why DeWalt has been around for a long time. At this point I am very happy with it's design, the light on the front has served me well on many occasions. I wasn't sure about the speeds 1 thru 3, but after using them I found them very useful. It has a lot of power, which I definitely love. I use it exclusively at this point and have since purchased a reciprocating saw, and a cut off tool. The brand new cut off tool is another story. Right out of the box it was defective, spindle had probably half inch of play in and out. And, spindle lock did not work at all. I've never purchased a Ryobi tool that was defective out of the box, plus they all still operate to this day. I will let you know if there is a problem with this driver

Incredible tool!
This tool is simply awesome! I have an older single speed one that I keep in my Jeep tool box and wanted one for the garage as well. This thing seriously outperforms the older, single speed model and I love that thing. I wasn't sure whether I would use the various speeds but last night while working on the Jeep I ended up using the slow speed and the high speed so it has proven it's purpose. The high speed setting is ridiculously fast and powerful. I had the lug nuts off both of my vehicles in seconds and back on as quickly. I am going to have to cautiously test the power of the high speed setting though with some spare nuts and bolts because it set my lug nuts to right about 90 ft/lbs. My older model will set them well also but I only had to turn the torque wrench about 10 degrees to hit 100 ft/lbs. The slow speed setting (which is still a decent speed) doesn't apply near the torque and was perfect for setting small 10mm bolts. There is a different feel when setting bolts at slow speeds as the tool feels like it stalls once the nuts/bolts are set. This is a good thing, just different that the higher speed settings where it impact drives after the nuts/bolts are set. The quality of the tool is excellent as one would expect from DeWalt. One of the most notable improvements is the brushless design that, I swear, doesn't use any battery power at all. My batteries seem to last forever and I use this (and my older model 20V brushless driver) nearly daily. They could probably make the unit solar powered and save the batteries completely. The one most notable improvement over the previous 20V brushless driver is that the knurled lock for the driver bits it more pronounced and easier to use when wearing gloves to swap out bits. I would most definitely buy this product again!

Still my favorite power tool after more than a year of use!
I love this driver so much I bought 3 of them (so far). Our crew uses them for almost everything, so I may buy more. We drive screws with it, drill holes, drive lag screws and tighten nuts onto carriage bolts. The get used so much, it's the tool of choice when we're building wheelchair ramps. The only time I prefer a drill to drill holes is when it's a really big hole or I need a hammer drill for concrete. Small holes in the end of deck boards to prevent splitting are much easier with this. It's so light, and even the light 2.0 Ah battery lasts forever. The DCF887 has the brushless motor for more power and less maintenance. It has TONS of power. We don't use nails in our ramps, only screws--so it gets a workout. I bought the kit that came with the charger and two 2.0Ah batteries (and case). I also bought several other bare DeWalt 20v tools, but decided to try Enegitech batteries, since they were so much less expensive. After more than a year, I'm sold on generic batteries, so save your money. Shop carefully, though; prices are all over the map. They are 5.0Ah batteries, and although I usually stick with the smaller DeWalt 2.0Ah that came with my kit (they're lighter so the driver is a little more balanced that way and much easier for smaller people to use), if I don't have a charged 2.0Ah ready, I just pop in the 5.0Ah and it runs forever. For my usage, I almost always keep the driver set on the middle power setting: 2. When set on 1, it doesn't have enough power to drive most screws for me, but if I need precision, it's a good way to get a screw started. However, after some experience, I find I can handle everything I need to do on 2. A bigger lag bolt might require 3, but not often. On 3, it's too easy to drive the screw halfway through the board if you're not careful. 2 is perfect for most of my requirements. Having a magnetic attachment is handy to hold your screws. I haven't found one I love yet. But for driving screws, I can't recommend this highly enough. You will love it! I strongly advise spending a bit more on this brushless one over the brush versions. More powerful and longer lasting.

This DEWALT 20V MAX XR impact driver redefines expectations for compact tools. The brushless motor delivers 1825 in-lbs of torque in a package lighter than most competitors, while the 3-speed selector lets me match power to the task - from delicate cabinet work to driving 6" lag bolts. After six months of daily professional use, it shows no signs of wear and maintains consistent power through entire battery charges. **Key Features:** ✔ **Precision Control**: Electronic brake prevents over-driving ✔ **Compact Design**: Fits in tight spaces (5.3" head length) ✔ **Durable Construction**: Survived multiple 10ft drops ✔ **Efficient Brushless Motor**: 57% more runtime than brushed **Performance Highlights:** - Drove 500+ deck screws on single charge - Removed rusted trailer hitch bolts effortlessly - Maintained speed under load **Technical Advantages:** ✓ 0-3,400 RPM / 0-3,800 IPM ✓ Belt hook included ✓ LED worklight with 20-second delay **Why Professionals Choose It:** - Actually fits between 16" on-center studs - Provides noticeable vibration reduction - Delivers consistent power until cutoff **Perfect For:** • Framing crews needing all-day tool • Electricians running conduit • Automotive technicians While tool-only, it's worth investing in DEWALT's 20V system. The balance and power make this my go-to for any driving task, eclipsing heavier models I've used for years. **Why 5 Stars?** - Exceeds pro-grade expectations - Innovative speed control prevents material damage - Built to withstand jobsite abuse A rare tool that makes you work faster with less fatigue. The DCF845B has become my most reached-for driver, proving that smart engineering beats raw power alone. **Note:** Pair with 5Ah battery for heaviest tasks. **Pro Tip:** Use speed 1 for precision work, speed 3 for stubborn fasteners. This impact driver represents the perfect balance of power, control, and durability - worth every penny for serious users. It's ruined me for lesser tools. **Bonus:** The tri-LED light actually illuminates the work area effectively.
