Does this retain the reading after removing it from the tire?

I ordered this last year, and at the time it did keep the tire pressure until it was reset by clicking the side button.   Now, it no longer retains the pressure.   I asked a mechanic about it and he said the button was to release pressure on over inflated tires, but I was pretty sure that wasn't the only function for the button.  Now, in reviewing the product's features I see that it should be retaining the pressure.   Sadly, mine no longer does that.   Otherwise, I like the gauge quite a lot.

Question 2

Worked great for a while until started losing the reading at about 1psi per second. Anybody else had the problem and know a remedy?

Occasionally this can happen if dust or some other material gets onto the valve seat, however it is usually simple to rectify:- Unscrew the tire gauge stem, pull out the brass plug and check the o-ring is aligned correctly.- Tap out the black/white (black on top) valve seat and spring below the brass plug, give a gentle blow down the stem while pressing the bleed button on the side and re-assemble.- If this does not work, it could be in the bleed button stem. As this is not accessible, a drop of lubricating oil down the bleed button stem can often solve the problem.We will of course replace the tire gauge if it proves to be defective in any way, however this is very rare and if you wouldn't mind just trying this first and let me know, it will correct the problem 99% of the time.

Is the pressure gauge tube metal or plastic?

All metal, you can even unscrew the end and you will see the inner tube construction.

does it accurate more than the digital one ?

Most decent tire gauges of this type are accurate to within 3% on average. However the TireTek gauge meets ANSI B40.1 Grade B international accuracy standard which means it is accurate to within 2%. Also mechanical gauges are more reliable in general than digital gauges. Hope this helps.
