Great coat, fits well. Read the full review.
Sat on the fence in buying this for a while due to the conflicting reviews about sizing. IF you go by the sizing chart for this item, I'd suggest going down a size, as it doesn't match up. I'm in the UK, 5'10", 15 stone, and an XL in everything (too many sweets, too little exercise), but according to the sizing chart I should've got an XXL. I took a punt, and ordered the XL. It fits great. Arm length size is fine, cost length is fine, and I could easily wear a hoodie underneath it and still do it up. It might be a little snug, and probably very warm, but I could. The Sherpa lining is only on the body and hood, the sleeves are lined with the normal shiny lining you get on some coats, but there is some kind of insulating between the lining and outer layer. It weighs quality, it's not a light jacket, which I like in a winter coat. There are elastic draw strings to tighten up the bottom of the jacket, and the hood just has a shoelace type draw cord. I've added some spring toggles to the hood cord, as if you did pull it tighter, it would otherwise not stay tight, unless you tied a pretty bow under your neck with both ends. No idea if I'll ever tighten it, but they're there if I want to. Overall very pleased with this jacket. Can't wait for winter to come so I can actually wear it. I had a similar coat years ago, which is by far the best coat I've ever had, but years of hard wearing have finally killed it (continuously looking for a replacement, hence why I bought this now). This coat is equally as good as that one from what I can tell. Bought it in Carhartt brown.

Excellent Jacket
Been wanting to get one of these jackets for ages but was a bit put off by the price !! Decided to finally pull the trigger and I’m not disappointed !! Heavy , well made and warm it’s the best jacket I’ve ever bought and worth every penny , I think it will last for years and just look even better with some wear !! Defo go for a size smaller than your normal fit as the sizing is very generous

Wow!!!
I treated myself to this as I've heard so much about Carhartt, its products and the quality it represents. Well all I can say is that in this jacket the reputation is well deserved. I'm just hoping we can have a bit of cold this winter so I get the chance to wear it because it feels as if it'd be perfect in sub zero temperatures with only a thin sweater underneath. It weighs a ton, well almost. It really is made of very heavy duty cotton and the lining is lovely and cosy. I'd usually get an XXL but, following advice on Carhartt sizing, I ordered an XL and its a perfect fit. As I say, the quality oozes from every triple stitched seam, the sturdy pockets and rugged zipper. As I'm getting a bit long in the tooth I'm pretty sure it'll outlast me. I can't recommend this jacket highly enough. Buy one and I don't think you'll need another for a few winters to come!

Buy a size down for a closer fit
Coat is perfect but way too big. I ordered xl but will be returning and buying a medium. I’m 6 ft 2, 14 stone and it drowns me. Length is good though.

Authentic Carhartt jacket fits and performs as expected!
Fits well as described! Bought for my son who is 5’11 size large. Nice spring/fall medium weight jacket that wicks moisture, protects from wind and keeps you warm! Authentic Carhartt product.

Love this jacket!!
I am a female who hates womens' clothing - flimsy, pinchy, no pockets, inconsistent sizing - and since I'm not blessed with curves, mens' clothing fits me better, anyway.I wear 32/32 mens' pants, and ordered the XL, because I didn't want it to be tight over a sweater/hoodie. In retrospect, the Large would have been better, but I love it and could potentially gain a bunch of weight, so I'm keeping it.I haven't owned a winter coat since 2014, when I moved away from Ohio. However, I lost some of my "natural insulation," so my hoodie doesn't cut it anymore, even living in Georgia. This coat is HEAVY. It will probably pull the command-strip coathook down, but it is WARM. The lining in the arms is gathered around the wrists, and the hood is shaped so that it keeps my ears warm even when the coat isn't buttoned or zipped all the way.The side pockets are weirdly small. They keep my hands warm, but I wouldn't keep my keys in there, because the pockets are shallow enough that they could fall out. Fortunately, it has PLENTY of other pockets that zip or snap, so reserving the side pockets for cold hands is OK.It's not something I'd wear to the opera, but I don't go to the opera, so that is fine with me. Personally, I like how it looks on me, even if it is a little bit oversized.I don't think I'll have to buy another winter coat for a long, long time, and that is delightful.
