I have been making chainmail armor since 1975, trying every pair of pliers I could find, and these are the BEST I have ever tried for larger, heavier (14G stainless and titanium) links! I would prefer if these pliers were a little looser, but I'm certain some mileage on them will fix this small critique of mine.

Not perfect, of the two pliers I received, one was better in fit and alignment. But even the lesser of the two was better than all other parallel jaw pliers I have tried for jewelry work.

This product is as good as promised! It really helps me when I'm making silver jewelry. It's parallel grasp is ideal for creating uniform bends in metal, forming, straightening and flattening metal.

These are great pliers. They are more robust and well aligned than all of the cheap knockoffs being sold. If you plan on applying much force then you should pony up the extra dough and expect to wait a while for these to arrive from England. It is often frustratingly difficult to find things that are actually well built these days. I personally choose to spend the extra money for the quality and to also help the people that are doing it right stay in business.

Maun is always the best. I wouldn't mind if they had a mild spring to open back up. My old ones are smooth, these new ones are a bit tight and stuck closed, needing two hands to open them. Hopefully they will loosen up.

First of all, these pliers are not worth the exorbitant price they're charging. I bought these because I figured it was a better "domestic" (as in not Chinese) tool and it arrived with rust on it which is weird because they were clearly coated in oil that I had to wash off my hands. Not a great start. The fit and finish of these pliers is... acceptable. Maybe the cheap import ones are real junk because these feel like tools I bought at a garage sale for $2. Maybe the "blackened steel jaws, case hardened to HRC 57" is the expensive part? The rest of it feels like a grade school hole punch. The ad copy says, "The jaws always move in parallel" and that is just not true. There is play in each of the jaws which can make it seem like they're not aligned properly, but this is clearly by design because detailed alignment would probably be very expensive and delicate to maintain. Instead, the jaws have a channel where the back pivot rides which means that there is some play. I took pics that show how they might first connect at only one point but if you squeeze them more they then come together flat. This *should* be fine is what you're trying to straighten is long enough. I bought these for straightening leads for wire dress and they seem to work well for that. This tool is also smaller than I expected it to be which is certainly my fault because the dimensions are right there in the description (photos). Chalk that up to me being a dumb American who didn't get that 140mm is only 5.5 inches, but that just adds insult to injury since now I feel like I over-payed for a tiny little tool that's even less useful than I thought it would be.

First thing to say that these pliers are different from the norm. That is to say that they are parallel pliers. When opened and closed the jaws are always parallel to each other. This makes the perfect for gripping items firmly with little or no damage. I have seen other versions of these piers and they do not compare to the Maun pliers. They are robust, very well made and the designers obviously thought about using them over long periods as the handle grips are particularly comfortable. Not for people with above average sized hands, as these are the smaller version. The next size up would suit the larger hands. I would recommend these particular pliers to anyone that needs to hold small items firmly i.e. jewelery etc. Excellent purchase.

Well made but pricey. Like having a hand vice, very useful.

These pliers are very well made and very sturdy, and should see a lot of service. The parallel action is particularly useful, especially for turning nuts where normal pliers are inclined to slip off. I would have preferred the jaws to open a little more than they do, so I will probably be investing in a pair of the 61/2 in ones.
