Small but handy!
Ok, I own one of these already and just bought this one for my mom. Even though I own the huge 6 qt. professional Kitchen Aid, I find myself reaching for this guy all the time. The 6 qt. mixer seems like a really good idea until you realize that almost every normal recipe is too small for it. That's where this handy dandy little guy comes in. I use it for everything from whipping eggs for breakfast, whipping cream, creaming butter etc... and it always does the job. What I love: * The style of the beaters. I still remember the old style that used the flattened metal for the beaters. These thin rounded ones are totally where it's at! If you haven't tried this style I highly recommend giving it a spin. * great control over speed, mine has 6 speed settings. * Lots of power for a hand mixer. I've owned cheaper units in the past and let me tell you, there's a HUGE difference! This one is worth the extra $ * Easy to operate, it always ejects the beaters, performs consistently etc... * Great size to just leave out on the counter. Aaaaaand I'm totally jealous her mixer comes with the extra wisk attachment, I didn't get one! My only complaint is that I wish it went one speed higher. I find myself wishing it would whip a little faster at the top end for whipping cream etc... However, don't think it won't do the job. It has always been great for me, it's just personal preference that has probably been formed from years of using stand mixers. If you need to upgrade but can't afford the full on stand mixer, I highly suggest giving this a try. Granted, it won't have the power on the top end for thick batters or bread etc... but for almost everything you'd need, it will do the job and do it well.

Happy
Needing to replace a dying Kitchen Aid, I thought I'd 'upgrade' and bought a 9 speed Braun. I returned it because I found it hard to control, and because it flung dough all over the counter and floor. I decided go to with a KitchenAid again, which after all had lasted me over 20 years. I'm very satisfied. The grip is comfortable on my arthritic hand, and the mixer has plenty power without being hard to control. As my old one did, I was able to integrate all the ingredients without having to stop and scrape the bowl a lot as I had to with the Braun. This mixer is about 1/2 oz. lighter than my old one at around 35 ounces. I like that the beaters don't have plastic or something that could eventually chip off (as a lot of newer mixers seem to have). My old beaters fit in the new machine, so that's kind of nice. I have arthritis in my hands, and it was easy to turn the mixer on and off, and adjust the speed. You can lock the cord right or left to keep it out of your way, and it's a good sturdy cord. It makes a little noise, but it's not raucous, and there is some vibration, but not so much you have to struggle to control the mixer. I ordered a white one, with delivery promised in about a month since it's not a popular color. I got it in less than 10 days. Good product, good fulfillment. I'm very satisfied with this mixer and the transaction.

Works great and is very quiet
This beautiful red mixer works great. Mixed my butterscotch cookie dough beautifully. When you first start mixing mashed potatoes on low, there's no more potatoes flying everywhere. I love this mixer.

A great hand mixer
A very good mixer, quiet, love the seven speed settings but have a hard time pressing the button to reject the wire whips with my arthritic thumbs.

Real good handheld mixer.
Low speed is low so you're not going to be slinging stuff. It's not as powerful as a stand mixer but who would have that expectation? But it handled the thick wedding cookie dough. It is quiet enough that the spouse on the zoom call in the next room had no complaints. (I ordered the beaters with the rubberized ends. Highly recommended.) Only complaint: The switch buttons don't have a quality feel.

Don't let the speed complaints fool you...
I was nervous to purchase this because of the comments about lower speed, but now I know exactly why so many others weren't concerned about it. Yes, this mixer does not go nearly as fast as my previous mixers (the last of which broke while making a stiff buttercream), but there's a reason why - the beaters. Notice how they're thinner and shaped differently than the standard, flat-edged beaters? Other mixers need higher speeds because those flat-edged beaters hold onto whatever you're mixing and get clogged easier. The ones that come with this mixer do all the work for you. I make vegan cupcakes regularly, and I use vegan butter in my frosting which has to be creamed cold, straight out of the fridge. With my old mixer, it would get stuck in the middle of the beaters and take a good minute or longer to get broken up and be creamed even at high speeds. This mixer creams that same butter in mere seconds. It also handles my buttercream with ease, and that stuff gets very thick and hard to mix before it gets smooth and creamy. After several uses, I can definitely recommend this mixer. It's easier to maneuver, doesn't make my arms tired, and super easy to clean. The vents don't get sprayed and clogged with dry goods because of the low speed, and the locking cord stays out of the way. Very pleased with my purchase and excited to have a mixer that actually does some of the work for me.

Kitchen Aide Hand Mixer
My wife loves it. Surprisingly light weight. 7-speed but no Turbo boost. Controls are conveniently located for one-hand operation. Aesthetically pleasing - described as "contour silver"; however, not a silver (as in chrome or nickel) but a pleasing satin gray. Caution to those who are casual cooks/bakers - make sure you match the correct beaters to their assigned holes in the head (the beaters and holes are registered).
