Kreg Jig K5 Master System with Pocket Hole Screw Kit - desertcart.com Review: Works great, good build quality. - Bought this to construct a 6' deck box to store our patio furniture cushions in. Ended up drilling probably around 150 holes with it in a combination of cedar and pine, all said and done and every single one of them was perfect. The auto-tensioning clamp works perfectly and the unit is solidly constructed. My only gripe would be the somewhat flimsy way the vacuum attachment just snaps into place. With my shopvac hose attached, on a couple of occasions it would cause it to pop out, but for the most part it worked so I am not docking any stars for it. Most of the stock I worked with was only 5" wide, but for the few 3' sections I worked with, I didn't find the extensions to be too terribly useful, but they are a great place to store the drill bit, driver, depth guide, etc. The clamp my kit came with is really nice too..solid and easy to use. I ended up using the 1-1/4" course screws up for my project and had to run to HD and get more. Not sure if I will use most of the other types of screws anytime soon, but will be nice to have them on hand for whatever next project comes up I can use this with. Overall, having this item made my project so much easier to build. Great investment. Review: Easy to Use and Setup even for a Beginner - Although I am new to Pocket Hole building the Kreg jig works great. The setup was easy and strait forward. In just a few minutes I was up and running making a table saw workbench. The joints are super strong and they almost square themselves . I put together the base and after cleaning up I thought oh no I didn't check for square. When I checked, all edges were right on. I chose the K5 instead of the K4 for the locking handle. Once dialed in this thing holds the wood securely and it does not slip during drilling. It is super fast to go to the next piece. The only issue I have with the jig is that the number scales are hard to read. I found a hack on Pintrest (I don't know if desertcart allows for external links in reviews) just search for "Kreg jig with white paint" and you will find it. It makes the number scale POP. One thing I did find is with using construction 2 x 4s the screws will push through while screwing because of the soft wood.. Just take care while screwing and you wont have a problem. Overall I love this Kreg Jig K5 Master System with Pocket Hole Screw Kit (5-Sizes) It comes with everything you need to start your journey of Pocket Hole building. The jig creates Strong joints and it is so easy to setup.

Everything They Said it Was, and More!
I'm in the midst of remodeling two houses, and I was looking for cabinets and built-ins that would stand up to renters. No way was I going to buy the falls-apart-in-months in-stock particle board cabinets at the big box store, or order $30k worth of custom cabinets and built-ins. I'm reasonably handy, so I thought I'd give fabricating my own with pocket hole joinery a shot. It blows my mind how easy it was, and how well the kit works. This and the Kreg jigs for cabinet hardware made the job fast, easy, and frustration free. There was zero learning curve, and zero screwed up cabinets due to misapplication of the tools. I've since used this to help fabricate everything from window and door frames to furniture. Outstanding!

A Must For Accurate Pocket Holes
We wanted to replace the upstairs and downstairs railings in our home, but did not want to pay the $8,000 quote we received to have someone do the work. I decided to do the work myself and decided to use pocket holes and screws to attach the railings to the newel posts. This tool made the process quick and easy. The pocket hole joints are very strong and after applying a little stain to the holes they were practically invisible. The railing turned out beautifully. I initially thought the cost of the tool was a little high, but after using it repeatedly on this project I can definitely say that it was worth every penny. If you have a project that requires pocket holes this tool is a must.

I have been building my own furniture for more than 20 years and have used all of the different methods of joinery. This is my first time using this kind and l am very impressed with the ease of use. My reason for only 4 stars is the plastic construction and would surely pay more for a more rugged material.

The K5 is a must have jig for any level of woodworker. Don't buy the left over K4s that are still on the shelf.
For context, I am an absolute beginner with woodworking. This was bought for my first project, a dining room table. Definitely made for efficiency. Setting it up is easy. Once set up, you just clamp the work piece and start drilling. The top of the table was made of 1x6x8s joined together by pocket screws along the edges. The jig wings adequately supported the 8' sections. Once set up, the holes are quickly and consistently drilled. It took no time to drill the 60 plus holes for my project. The automaxx clamps are great. I recommend also buying the 6 inch clamps and at least one right angle clamp. I wouldn't buy any that were not automaxx. The K5 is a must have if you intend to drill multiple pocket holes in your next project. I am glad I held out for the K5 instead of getting the K4 that was in stock. Good luck

Love Kreg but it didn’t last a day
1/22/18 Revised to 5 stars. I sent an email over the weekend, and followed it up with a phone call first thing this morning. They had already sent out the replacement. Can’t ask for anything better than that. Previous review: Soon as I received this immediately put it to use. I planned on using it for shelving. I drilled 30 pocket holes with it when the clamp stopped working. It made a sound like gears were stripped. I followed the instructions for the clamp, but had to give up as I couldn’t get a tight clamp. As this was a project I had to do this weekend, I went out and bought the J4 clamp. It is nowhere near as fancy, but it is much sturdier. Takes longer to set up, but it does the job.

This is a nice set too
I am a pocket hole convert. I put off buying this for a long time, but it's totally worth it. This is a nice set too. The portable attachment has been a big help, screw set will get you started (you can buy just the screws you'll use most often once you figure out which ones you go through), clamp is great (i got a right angle clamp too). I use a small vacuum hooked to the dust collection port, and I recommend it. Much cleaner. This thing makes a ton of small wood chips. I screwed this thing to a piece of plywood and screw it to my work bench when I want to use it. I put it up on the shelf when I 'm not. One of my favorite tools
