Other ones I've seen are narrower and it seems to me one's fingers would be in the toppings while cutting. This blade with a nice wooden handle allows good leverage for a child who wants to participate in the pizza making process.The blade comes sharpened but not honed. After honing it is plenty sharp. It should be used on a wooden or plastic board. I've seen questions about using it directly on a pizza stone. Do not do this. Stone is used to sharpen steel cutting tools, so this would not be good for the blade nor the stone, as you may crack the stone while forcing the dulled blade (dulled from the stone) while cutting your pizza.The single flaw of this cutter is the lack of something custom to protect the cutting edge. A version of it comes with a little stand, but who wants this 14" long item sitting out on the counter 24x7? A vinyl or plastic sheath of some kind would be nice. We're using a folded towel for now, and I hope to fabricate something for it, after giving it a little thought.This is a well-crafted pizza slicer that would slice a sandwich as well. Add that protective covering to the blade and it would be a solid 5 stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I LOVE THIS THING *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2016* In regards to the Siwa Gourmet pizza cutter.....I LOVE THIS THING!! I was using a "wheel" style cutter and it always ruined the presentation of the pizza. Not to mention I had to cut numerous times to get all the way through even a thin crust pizza and it never did cut the edge of the crusts. I've used this new cutter numerous times already. It is nice and sharp and cuts through the pizza and all toppings nicely without ruining the look of the pizza. It's so much faster and requires less effort. When I was shopping for this cutter, I looked at a few others with stainless steel handles but I chose this one because it had great reviews and the ones with the stainless handles were all hallow and all reviews said that they bent. I'm glad I chose this one because the wood handle looks nice and is solid. All in all, I am ecstatic with this pizza cutter!! Thanks a ton!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Pizza Cutter!
