Viante Alba Electric Tea Kettle With Infuser, No Plastic, 1.5L

We make pour over coffee in a Chemex and love that the kettle keeps the water hot until the process is finished with the keep warm function. The pour over coffee takes a while to make and we no longer have to keep reboiling the water in between pours in like we did before with our previous hot water kettle. We also love the keep warm function for tea. The tea infuser makes delicious tea and it is nice to be able to make a whole pot at one time and keep it hot afterwards. We simply boil the water, put the kettle on warm then put the infuser in (with bulk tea inside it; we haven’t tried individual tea bags yet). We take the infuser out after steeping the tea and with the keep warm function on the tea stays hot. No more microwaving after pours needed! We use less tea this way than making individual cups one at a time. The auto shut off works. The glass pot is easy to clean and we like seeing the water boil and also how dark the tea is when we are steeping. Be sure to give the cap insert in the lid a little twist so it stays on. The lid bottom and cap insert is the only plastic component on the kettle part and it doesn’t touch the water. The kettle is lightweight. Thanks to the reviewer who described how to activate the keep warm function. My husband fiddled with the controls and wanted me to return the kettle at first because he didn’t think the keep warm worked but there was just a missing step in the instructions. Very simple to activate. Just press the keep warm button on the far left then then press the start button on the far right. It will automatically choose the heat setting just to the left of the boil hottest function if you used that setting. You can’t use the boil hottest setting on keep warm. If you want a lower keep warm heat setting you can select that after you press the keep warm button and before pressing the start button. The kettle will also periodically heat the liquid a little on keep warm but not to boiling. Our initial problem was not pressing the start button after selecting the keep warm selection. So simple almost embarrassing we didn’t figure it out on our own!

This tea kettle is the BEST!! Very intuitive to operate and works really well. It offers different temperatures for herbal and black teas. Also ( and in addition to its usefulness) it is VERY cute! I love it and even got one for my daughter. My kettle recently died and I bought another one of the same kind I had, but they had changed the design over the years and it was tricky to operate now. I'm so glad I found this one -- it is fantastic!!

I bought it just for keeping tea hot but now use it as a standard kettle as well as teapot. Seems to boil water quicker than my kettle although both are 1500watts. Needed to ask a question of customer service and they were really fast. Only minor criticism....the perforated loose tea container needs to be slightly longer so you can brew loose tea at 250cc. At this depth the leaves can't brew with space sound them.

The pros and cons: Pros - 1) it’s mostly glass and stainless, with the only plastic being in the handle and lid, neither of which should come in contact with the water. 2) its wide opening allows for easy cleaning. 3) water heats up very quickly. 4) the keep warm feature works well and is automatic (other than pressing the keep warm button). 4) the water fill lines are very easy to read and are marked on the glass rather than a floating indicator. 5) warranty on the paperwork says you can extend it from 6 mos to 1 year, but when I registered for it, my email said it’s for 2 years. Not sure which is right but it’s nice they extend it when you register. Cons - 1) the incessant beeping is a bit too much early in the morning. Every button pressed, when the heating process finishes, and sometimes when picking up and setting down the kettle. If you live in a small home, and someone else is asleep, this could be an issue. I use this kettle for pour over coffee, so I remove and return the kettle from/to the base multiple times until finished, which triggers the keep warm feature too, and it beeps a lot. 2) use caution when wiping the interior of the kettle; the upper metal band can be sharp and my husband cut his finger. You don’t have to dry the inside if you don’t want to, or can just use caution near the top, so this can be avoided. 3) the cord is 32” long counting the black plastic part of the plug; if you need a longer cord this one might be too short. This might be a safety regulation; I’m not sure if all kettles are this length now; our old one was a little longer. Overall, we like this kettle a lot more than our old one (that one was almost 20 yrs old) and plan to keep it. Took off one star for the beeping and sharp edge. Literally my favorite item in the house after my first infuser broke I was heart broken and then I decided to treat myself to this one. It's bigger than I thought but it makes tea so well and it's great at quickly reheating a cup.

I have bought this machine for its features. As a tea lover I constantly use it to brew many different kinds of tea. The visible clear glass is something I enjoy about it. The size fits my needs and options to hold the hot tea is good. However, the coffee brew filter is so poorly design and doesn’t last long. I’m fine with buying a replacement part, but that something the owner of the brand doesn’t offer nor give you alternatives for something to buy from aftermarket. The customer service has been bad since I have reach several time asking to offer this to buy, but it seems the want you to end up buying a replacement machine rather than just this small stainless steel coffee filter/tea infuser. So, I took picture here showing the machine status and long time review for this product. I’m thinking of buying replacement machine from a brand with better customer service

This is great! Love all the temperature settings. The infuser actually is low enough in the water unlike some others that you have to use alot of water. It’s easy to use, well made and very much worth the price .

This is perfect for making a large pot of loose tea or a single cup. It heats up fast and has various temperatures for different type of teas. love it!

If allowed to sit the tea can get to strong if you don't remove the bag

Súper funcional, sobre todo por el tema de a diferencia de las otras, ésta tiene temperaturas para c/tipo de té. Y es muy elegante.

Soy alérgica y este aparato fue el único que agregué a mi rutina. Me sentí muy mal. El acero que contiene no es del todo confiable para personas con alergias severas.
