## Description

Hoover Hives wooden frames are light weight and made from New Zealand Pine. They are fitted with CellTech plastic foundations that have been dipped in 100% bees wax. Every frame is measured precisely to the standard Langstroth deep frame size (9-1/8? x 19? x 1-3/8?). This means they can be used on both 8 or 10 frame Langstroth hives. The black foundations make it is easier for you to inspect the brood in the hives against the black background.

Review: Decently made frames, good value - These frames went together easily and were a good value. Overall quality was excellent and they've been working in the hive well. We did add additional beeswax to foundations because the coating they come with is a bit too light for our preference, but they would probably work fine without the extra effort. Plastic foundations can be a challenge getting bees to build out comb on them, but these have worked well for us.

**Q: I plan to keep all the wild bees inside the H 105 bee hives, are the bees are going to die and what i need to do?**
A: IT'S COMPLICATED, depends on where you live, how cold it gets in the winter,  are there good food and water sources nearby, bees stop laying brood in the fall and downsize to balance their honey stores with the population.   you should plan on feeding them 2 parts sugar and one part water in late October while the temp is above 50 degrees.   you should treat for mites in November:  you will need to adjust the timing depending on your location.   the size of the hive needs to be only one brood box and one honey super.   there are many informative videos on YouTube star watching and learning...it's easier to do something detrimental than it is to do everything right.

**Q: Is it a 100 frames and a 100 foundations?or 50 of each**
A: It's everything you need to make 100 frames. 100 tops, 100 bottoms, 200 sides, and 100 plastic foundations. All you need it some nails or glue.

**Q: How many wax coats is on this foundation ?**
A: I assume the standard amount of wax coating is on these frames. If it were a heavy coating, they would surely advertise this. And also charge much more.
If you want a heavier wax coding you can certainly do it yourself with a brush or a short paint roller. I've done this myself, and it is not difficult.

**Q: Any idea where celltech foundation is made?**
A: From what I can tell its just plastic with a thin wax coating. Be sure to rewax the plastic foundation before use.

These frames went together easily and were a good value. Overall quality was excellent and they've been working in the hive well. Great frames and really like the company. They are affordable for first time bee keepers and sturdy. They seem to be a little small which can be problematic but I will update if it ends up being an issue. I didn’t realize they needed to be assembled so just make sure you don’t bring the box without putting them together first. Was easy once I had the right tools. Overall I liked the product and it does what it is supposed to.
