OXO Good Grips Handheld Mandoline Slicer with Non-Slip Handle for Kitchen

This mandoline is excellent. The blade is sharp and gives clean, even slices, and the adjustable thickness settings are genuinely useful. It's easy and safe to use thanks to the good grip and handguard, and it's simple to clean and store. A great addition to the kitchen - highly recommend.

Bought my original one over 18 years ago and decided to finally get a new one. In all the years I've had it, the sharpness never died and it is so easy to use. No fear of slicing fingers with this model. Several years ago bought a different brand that boasted the sharpness, and ended up in the ER. So, this is a much safer and easy to use Mandoline..... We literally use it almost daily. It is sturdy and cleans and stores easily.

For an inexpensive tool I really love this. I am not sure how long it will last but it does a nice job.

This slicer is easy to use, has 3 thickness settings plus a locked setting. It comes with a safety guard which works with larger things like onions but doesn’t really work with thinner items. I was using it to slice beautiful, paper thin cucumber and radish slices on the thinnest, 1 mm setting for the Japanese cucumber salad I was making. I wasn’t being careful enough and sliced off the tip of my thumb. It’s so sharp I didn’t feel a thing. But the reason I mention my accident is because of any flaw with the mandolin. It was me not being careful enough. I ordered a protective chef’s glove to wear when using it in the future. Had I been using a wider slice setting it would have meant a trip to the ER. So buy the slicer, buy a protective glove ( less than $10), and happy slicing!

Great for slicing, compact, easy to use and easy to store when not in use.

I love the extra width of this mandolin. The dial that adjusts the thickness of slices with the lock option really makes this much more safer to store than my last mandolin.

This was much smaller than I anticipated - almost sent it back. Glad I tried it though - works great, and I was even able to slice eggplant with it. All of the slice settings are very thin though. Still glad I purchased it.

For the record I am reviewing the: OXO Good Grips Handheld Mandoline Slicer for Kitchen, Adjustable Vegetable Slicer Size 29 cm x 9.5 cm I have had several mandolines over the years. The bulky metal one with the folding legs was way too unstable and the bottom part actually bent, so not only was it useless , but the instability made it hazardous to use. I had a set of them that I bought at a county fair, a German brand, and they have lasted for 33 years. But now the blade has finally gotten so dull that it will not cut a tomato. So, after looking at several here I decided to try this one, I only needed it to cut tomatoes and onions for burgers and sandwiches. This Mandoline is not big enough to cut a beefsteak tomato, and forget about a large onion. Yes it is sharp, yes it is easy to use, yes I like the handle. But if you want to cut anything other than a cucumber, carrot, or some other small vegetable you are not going to be happy with this one. This is probably my fault for not visualizing on a tape measure how small 9.5 cm actually was. Also, the description tells you the overall width, the actual blade with is only 7.3 cm. I know because I measured it. So, be aware if you only need a small vegetable cutter, you will probably do well with this one. But if you need to cut hamburger size beefsteak tomatoes or large onions, chose a different one.

Ik gebruik hem tot nu toe eigenlijk alleen maar om komkommer makkelijk in fijne plakjes te snijden en dat doet hij heel goed. Andere groenten/fruit doe ik er eigenlijk niet mee omdat ik het idee heb dat ik die makkelijker met een goed koksmes kan snijden behalve de allerfijnste diktes. Misschien speelt ook mee dat je afhankelijk van de vorm en stevigheid van de groente al gauw het vasthoud/beschermstuk moet gebruiken omdat het anders riskant wordt met je vingers, en dat niet altijd even handig is. Maar misschien moet ik nog meer experimenteren ermee. Dat ik de optie heb om op een ruime hoeveelheid verschillende diktes in te stellen vind ik fijn ook al heb ik voornamelijk de 3 of 4 fijnste standen gebruikt. De schaaf voelt verder goed aan zoals van OXO gewend.

I recently purchased this item and I'm very impressed with the quality and safety of it. The dial on the side has a lock setting so no likelihood of cutting fingers when it's not in use. Several thicknesses to choose from and the vegetable holder clips into the unit for easy storage. Quick and convenient to use and easy clean. I highly recommend this product.

This mandolin has made cutting vegetables for my dehydrator such a breeze Pros: -the blade is very sharp and cut through the veggies fast and efficiently - the handle on the part that helps hold your veggies in place is very comfortable on your hands. It has little spikes on it so that your veggie can stay in place as you slice through it - I appreciate the visual illustration to determine the size of a cut you would like for your veggies, as opposed to a numerical value. It is easier to see exactly how thick I would like something instead of guessing what it would look like. - the thickest setting (as shown in the last photo) is just big enough. -the handle locks into place on the mandolin so you do not lose it while it is in storage Happy with this mandolin!

Terrible. The package was damaged when delivered. Someone has opened the original package and put a defective item back
