A: I bought it when my grandson was not quite one years old, along with the set of animals. He was quite intrigued with the different colors then. Now he is 14 months and is understanding the concept - when I show him the number 1, I say "1" and he copies and says "1". I show him a cow and say to him "what does a cow say" - he says "mooo". He also makes sounds for other animals I show him. I think it's great visual teaching for toddlers.

Pros: Great big letters that no one can eat. Excellent for babies (my two are one year old). The colors are bold and bright. The magnets work and don't fall out with rough play. I have purchased these magnetic letters for my 19 month old daughter because she loves putting magnets on and taking magnets off the refrigerator. She loves them!!! Plus, I keep saying what each number is when she brings them to me, and she is slowly learning to recognize some numbers - amazing!! These are very durable and work fantastic! Would definitely recommend - they are also big enough that my daughter is not too tempted to put them into her mouth - which was a big concern for me! I have to wait on the other letters I bought because they are still a big too small.
