Excellent product! I almost always make a mess while cooking pancakes, but not with this bottle. Extremely practical, cleans easily, and semi elegant.

I decided to take a chance on this to make my yeasted blini recipe, since I was hoping to make prettier, more perfectly round blini. While you still have to mix this type of batter in a traditional bowl and spoon it into the "pen" - so you can't mix the batter in this - it does work to make more even and discreet blini. However, I would suggest two adjustments: 1) remove the nozzle/valve insert so you're left with the open hole. You can invert the nozzle insert to use as a plug between batches and then keep it upright in the proper batter-down position in the base. But blini batter is thicker and stickier than pancake batter and cannot make it through the valve, no matter how hard you squeeze. 2) You might want to consider multiplying your blini recipe, at least until you get the hang of using it. Since the batter is thick, it sticks to the insides of the pen. I did end up having to invert to remove the valve on my first attempt - so more batter stuck to the length of the pen then if I hadn't needed to do that - but it's not like you can scrape the batter bowl to get one or two more blini out of the batch once you transfer it to the pen. Normally my recipe makes 16, but I barely got 13 out of this. I did, however, need to get the hang out of squeezing, so if I perfect the squeeze, I could probably get 14 out of this, as long as I don't invert the pen at all. Some of my blini are bigger than others, but they are definitely more pretty and round than when I scoop with a spoon. Overall useful, but it will take some getting used to. (Oh, darn - guess I need to make more blini!) This is very easy to clean, and it is also very easy to squeeze. I have some hand injuries and still had no problems loading, squeezing or cleaning. So I am pleased with this purchase, even if it's not strictly for buttermilk pancakes!

I like the idea behind this but it's not perfect. First, you can't fit an entire batch of Bisquick in the container and shake it. Other comments say you can, maybe they're not using Bisquick. A full recipe fills the entire tube minus an inch. No matter how much you shake the thing one end will be dry ingredient and the other will be the liquids. You need to mix the batter in a bowl then pour it in. Second, you need to squeeze it pretty hard which really surprised me. I have to squeeze with both hands. Two things I do like is that both ends unscrew so it's easy to clean. I also like that it has a little base to sit in so that the tube stays vertical in between pancake batches.

I was so excited to get this pancake mix container. I like to make pancake art for the grandkids and thought this would allow me better control. The first issue was I couldn’t get the mix to completely combine so it wouldn’t dispense. I washed it out and the second attempt I mixed the batter up I. A bowl to get the lumps out and poured it I. The container which was a little messy. Dispensing normal pancakes was fairly easy. But it added no benefit to the pancake art effort! Then I had extra equipment to clean up!! I guess I’ll stick with my pouring bowl.

Excellent product! I used it to fill cupcake liners. Much less mess!

got this to help fill my cake pop pan, was surprised on how large it is, but its great for my large batter recipes. It filled the pan with no mess and great ease. It works wonders on cupcake pans, helps me control portion better. I like how it completely comes apart for cleaning purposes, both ends screw off the rubber nozzle pushes out. Its easiest to fill it upside down, the base is wider, but I guess you can do it ether way. I really like this product, so far have seen no flaws, its says its dishwasher safe, I'm about to find out in 10mins. I will order me another one, maybe two.

I bought this product exclusively to fill cute pancake molds that I purchased for my granddaughters. It worked great and was easy to use, although I mixed the batter in a separate bowl and then filled the Pancake Pen. I'm not sure I would use it for regular pancakes and if I did, I would not try to mix the batter in the unit, but it was perfect for my current needs.

Was very impressed with this item when I first used it. Worked perfectly! Made minimal mess and the pancakes looked great. Cleaning is a little time consuming but needed to prevent foul smell. I did it properly, removed seals got everything out of the nooks and crannies. I think around my 3rd use it stopped working correctly. When I go to squeeze out batter, air seeps out of the top lid (no matter how tight I twist the lid on) preventing any batter from coming out of the nozzle, making it useless. I’ve had to put tape around the top and wrap my hand around it while squeezing to try to prevent air from seeping and hopefully get some batter out. A band-aid that shouldn’t be needed for this product. Very unhappy. I couldn’t recommend this product because it doesn’t last.

And easy to clean - once you take all the pieces apart! It's SUCH a great tool for making pancakes! Definitely less messy than the usual pouring or spooning.

This made ALL the difference in making Yorkshires. I was able to quickly dispense the batter without the pan cooling off. Just what I was looking for!

I bought it for it's purpose. You do need some muscle to squeeze the bottle. Not made for art but to use for making a pancake once a day then throw it in the fridge.
