Reliable and Comfortable – A Must-Have! I’ve been using the SIMPATCH adhesive patches with my OmniPod and I couldn’t be happier! These patches really stay put—even through showers, workouts, and hot weather. They’re gentle on my skin, easy to apply, and remove without irritation. I love that they help keep my pod secure without peeling or bunching up. The material is breathable and flexible, so I almost forget it’s there. Honestly, they give me peace of mind and make managing my device so much easier. Highly recommend for anyone using an OmniPod

I have been using OmniPod for 5 years now, and I just cannot believe I didn't find these sooner. I have lost so many pods to unfortunate fitting room, pool, and doorway incidents, which the simpatch could have prevented. It fits nicely on top of the existing adhesive of the pod, makes it feel very secure, and does't come off until you need it to. The OmniPod adhesive does not withstand water exposure too well, but that issue seems to be entirely resolved with a simpatch on top of it. I have not noticed any irritation on my skin, and the removal was not any worse than removing just the pod alone. The edges will begin to peel occasionally towards the third day, but you can also off the edge that is peeling to stop it from going any further. Overall, I am very happy with this product and will be purchasing some for my Dexcom CGM, too. The price is a bit up there for 20 of them, but I think it is well worth it. You will save plenty on pods and insulin you didn't lose, and you will have one less thing to worry about as a type 1 diabetic, which I find priceless.

I've been using these for years with zero problems. They are very easy to apply and they hold extremely well, even after getting soaked by multiple showers. I'll never use anything else.

I have to admit this helps keep my Dexcom in place. However even in conjunction with overpatch the Dexcom company sends this does not last ten days. I have tried using without the dexcom provided overpatch but it falls off even faster. Normally I get about seven days out of it before I am force to put a second or even a third patch over it. If you try to replace the patch all together realize in all likelihood you are going to remove your Dexcom sensor and have to replace it as well. Best bet is to simply place an additional patch. Pros The patch in conjunction with the company patch does extend the time without using a ton of surgical tape. You can always add additional patches, which should get you through your ten day window. Extending the life of the adhesive will definitely provide significant saving by maintaining the proper grip on the sensor. Sensors are quite expensive with or without insurance. CONS You can say goodbye to taking lots of long showers, especially hot ones. I found out the hard way that hot long showers decreases the adhesiveness by fifty percent or more. That a bit of a bugger to get on. You have to be in a quiet comfortable position (normally partially reclined). In addition, when you remove the protective backing the patch likes to move around particularly true if there is any real air flow such as fans. Once this happens the patch is likely to bunch up and become unusable. You will have to try again with a different patch or face the possibility that the patch malfunctions and removes the newly placed sensor. A little trial and error goes a long way. I suggest always having a second pack available. No matter what I have found that I at least have to use two patches during the lifetime of a sensor. Again this is due to the fact the patch starts to come loose around the edges by day seven and depending upon activity as early as day four. Even though the patch does start to come loose, one still has to deal with left over adhesive left behind. Once I remove my expired sensor and patch(es), I clean the area twice with alcohol pads and then take that long luxurious shower prior to putting on the new sensor/patches. While there seem to be more cons remember that the one big pro is that these patches even if you have to use two or three throughout the life of a single sensor, saves you lots a money right off the bat. A loss of a single sensor could mean financially insecurity for many people with diabetes who are shelling out money on costly treatments. Without the advent and creation of a better upgraded version, I would still HIGHLY recommend these for any patient with a continual glucose meter.
