I love this high-end nutritious protein powder! I’ve been using SPiRU-TEIN for over 20 years. Both the strawberry and vanilla are excellent flavors choices. Once in a while, I’ll try a different protein powder, but I always come back to this one! It’s smooth and mixes well. Hands down, for me, it’s the best one out there!! I also like the nice container it comes in.

If you're looking for a great, natural energy boost/meal replacement/muscle building adjunct, then you've found it. It mixes fantastically well with my Blender Bottle mixer, and to me has a very smooth texture and not an overwhelming taste. There are no artificial sweeteners, and no added unnatural sugars. I take this with milk, about one scoop mixed with 16 oz of milk in the AM before/during/after some light workout and I find I have a lot of energy throughout the day - noticeably so! I also find I'm much less hungry come a few hours later for lunch time. I had been getting very hungry around 11am every morning, but now I notice I'm not really that hungry until even 1 or 2 pm! I can't be 100% sure that the powder is helping me bulk up, but just 2 weeks of starting some casual push-ups three times a week and taking this powder I've managed to increase my biceps by about 3/4 of an inch. I tolerate this powder very well - no stomach aches. I appreciate that it's an all natural mix of non-GMO proteins and not simply pure soy protein. It represents a good portion of your daily protein intake, and is fortified with vitamins and minerals. Additionally the lecithin, spirulina, choline and insollitol I think give an extra energy boost property and seem to help with mental clarity for me. When you consider that there's about 32 servings, it comes out to about $1 a dose, and considering it works as a great replacement for breakfast with additional benefits of extra energy, vitamins, and other potential health benefits, I'd say its well worth it. I plan on making it a staple.

Good product I’ve been using it for years…

I’m really picky when it comes to protein powders. I hate even the most “popular” ones as they taste like chemicals to me. I blend a scoop of this with a half frozen banana, a handful of ice and some milk for a delicious protein milkshake.

I was first introduced to this in my teens by an older sibling. I was looking for a breakfast replacement as I don't always have the time to eat in the morning as I would like. The directions for use say not to use a blender, but this was how my sister always did it. I never really understood why until I first received in the mail. Initially, I used water and an immersion mixer to blend it. When I tried it, it tasted like watered-down strawberries. I was somewhat surprised, but as the instructions stated to use milk, I figured I try it with milk next time. The second time around I decided to follow the directions. I mixed the ingredients as directed, "shake well". When I tried it, I realized how hard it is for this powder to mix completely once it hits wet ingredients. I did use water this time, but I was nearly disgusted at how clumpy it was. Drinking it, I still would get clumps of powder. I had not consumed the product for a few weeks, because I had made several attempts to follow the directions with modifications of methods in mixing: using a spoon, putting the ingredients in a bottle and using it as a shake weight, I still used the blender, but I was trying not to make it taste watery without adding more than the recommend scoop for 1 serving. I tried it with only water, soymilk, and milk. Finally, I tried to a new method of mixing 4oz of water + 4oz of either milk, heavy cream, or soymilk + 1 scoop of Spirutein. I use my immersion mixer and pulsated the mix until it is fully combined and smooth. This was by far the best result. And yes, this truly does taste better when you use cold items. A word of advise, clean the items used right away! This mixture can leave quite a chore for you if you leave it to dry in your cup. I found that personally, I am not fond of the strawberry flavor. It reminds me of when I had to take Fred Flinstone vitamins as a child. I like the vanilla and cookies & cream better. But my boyfriend likes it so, it was not a lost cause.

Best protein drink!

Great supplement product.

The first time I drank a glass of this stuff (strawberry flavor), I gagged. It tasted quite chalky. Next glass onward, I found that if I drank it without concentrating on tasting it, it tasted great. The flavor's good, just not the texture. The texture is more noticeable if I do any chewing while drinking. Aftertaste's good, too. The consistency of the shake is a bit foamy (I do 10 oz milk to a scoop and after shaking in a blender bottle, it's more like 16 oz), but I rather enjoy the thick frothiness of it. I drink a glass in the morning before work, and I don't get hungry until after lunch time. It's very effective at keeping hunger at bay. I like mixing it in a bottle the night before and sticking it in the fridge for the next morning -- the mix dissolves more thoroughly, IMO (tho it does separate and need a real brief re-shake in the morning). I also got chocolate peanut butter, which is also pretty tasty. This stuff's great, if you can get past the initial, first impression.
