Whirlpool 627985 Icemaker Thermostat

Five star product, but it was the wrong way to go. Unless you're an appliance repair technician, you're better off replacing the entire ice maker. I bought this part and the special adhesive that you must use when you replace it, when I took the unit apart I found that the reason the part went out was there was a short in the heating element. I crimped the connection so it would make contact with the thermostat pins but the overall repair only lasted about four months. A complete upgraded unit with new wire harnesses is available for only about $20 more than the thermostat and adhesive combined. I'm not bashing this part, it is a five star part, I'm just trying to help others out so they avoid making the same mistake I did.

Replaced this part after my ice maker would make the ice but not drop it. I would flip the breaker and it would drop the ice and make another batch but not drop it again. After replacing this part it drops consistently. I did not have alumilastic and did not want to spend $30 on a giant tube to use it once, so I used PC thermal paste. Way cheaper and it worked great! It's just a lot thinner so be ready to clean up the mess.

This fixed my icemaker issue. If your icemaker is not making ice on a regular basis this is probably the issue. However I recommend taking the icemaker out and inspecting it. If the tray mold has begun to flake it would be more cost effective to buy a new icemaker module. For approximately $25.00 more you can purchase a new icemaker.

This thermostat fixed my sisters ice maker & now has it producing more ice than they know what to do with. The freezer is on the bottom & when you pull that drawer out now the ice maker bucket is so chocked full of cubes they jump out of the freezer.Wish we'd had as good an experience with the adhesive... but that's another story.

Exactly what I needed to get the ice make working again in my Keenmore Elite refrigerator. Easy to install and fit perfectly. Now I can get back to making good ole sweet tea. Dont forget the Alumilastic adhesive! You'll know where the adhesive goes when you remove the old thermostat. Just clean off the old adhesive, place on the new adhesive, install the new part and put her back together. Done!

my current one worked fine, but was not connected so once connected it worked fine and I am simply holding onto the other thermostat for future needs. Mahalo
