New Balance - Good Shoes - REVISION
I really like these shoes. They are comfortable, stable, offer good arch support. This the 4th or 5th pair of NB walking shoes purchased over about 20 years. I have had excellent experiences each time. I expect these to perform as well. They weigh less than any pair of quality walking shoes I've ever owned. This is the second pair of this shoe I received. I returned the first pair cause they were too small. I moved up a half size which took care of that problem. So keep that in mind when you order yours. UPDATE: Shortly after receiving these shoes I discovered that they are also too small. Initially I only wore them for brief times. When I finally wore them for 4 hours constantly on my feet working inside my apartment, my feet were really hurting. I’m very disappointed! They’re too tight across the toes. I paid $95 for a pair of shoes that are now useless to me. I think I need a size 13. I didn’t discover this until after the 30 day returns time so I’ve been quietly brewing over it until now.

Great walking shoe!
I am a Brooks fan and have several pair of their Ghost running shoes for everyday. After much research, I purchased this New Balance model for my wife and I for distance road walking. We both experience Extensor tendinitis pain and most reviews listed this and the Hoka brand as being the best shoe for those symptoms. I originally obtained a size 10D and found them to be a half of a size too small. I do usually remove the insole and replace with my custom orthotics. I returned them for a 10.5D and they fit perfectly with or without the orthotics. I appreciate the stability of the sole and the overall comfort of the shoe. I would highly recommend them to those of you who distance walk on pavement.

Wish NB was more consistent…
These shoes are great… but from one model to the next, they are different in length almost all the time. 10 in 840’s need 10.5 in 847’s and 10.5 is just a tad to big, where 10 is just to small. Same goes for the 940’s vs the 840’s. And don’t get me started on how different the sizing is for 840v4 vs the 840v5’s.

Better fit than the V2
I have been a New Balance customer for quite some time. Anyone with narrow feet will tell you that it is very difficult to find any type of footwear in narrow width. My first pair of NB walking shoe was the 846 in 9 1/2 in B width. The fit was perfect and it was very comfortable for my daily walk. Those lasted several years and then I bought a pair of 847 v2. I read the reviews before I purchased them and most people advised to order 1/2 size larger than your normal size. They were right as I had to move up to size 10 b. It was a tad to long but I could live with that. Also, it was a little to wide but again I could manage. The V3 is a perfect fit. Only have them for a short time but so far they are very comfortable. I like the material used to make the shoe and they are a good looking walking shoe. Also, I got them in black witch is classy looking and helps to hide the dirt. Overall a great shoe and I hope NB will always continue to offer their shoes in narrow width.

Not What I Expected from New Balance
I wear an unusual shoe size (14-2A) and have worn New Balance walking and running shoes for many years. The 990/991 running shoes fit well and are quite comfortable. Same for the now-discontinued 811 and 812 walking shoes. However, with the demise of the 812's the only New Balance styles that are currently available in my size are the 990's and these 847's. Since the price on the 990's continues to climb and since I had good experiences with the old 811's and 812's I decided to give these a try. Mistake. Although the fit seemed right in terms of room, the 847's were just not comfortable. They seem to have far less padding than the old 811's/812's and less arch support as well. After wearing them around the house for a couple hours my feet started to hurt. The pain disappeared almost as soon as I removed them. I am returning them for a refund. This leaves the 990 as the only NB shoe I can comfortably wear. I am hoping that in the future New Balance will again produce a shoe in my size that is similar to the old 811/812.

New Balance comfort and quality.
The fit is true to size and the quality is good. Shoes were assembled in the USA which I appreciate and are very comfortable. I do a lot of walking and so far they're holding up quite well. New Balance is great too in the fact that they offer so many different sizes.

Fit as hoped!
This New Balance model and the New Balance #928 were recommended by my podiatrist. My wife has been wearing a 928 for years and likes it, so I ordered this 847 and a 928 in 8.5 EE size. The shoe felt great the instant I tried it on and great after about a mile fast walk. I have a somewhat wide foot and this EE width is spot-on. The toe box is fine, not too large or small. think I'll order a spare set or two. Bonus: this shoe was assembled in the USA.

A lot of miles
I walk every day; minimum of 3 miles but usually I can get in 4 to 5 miles. I live in the Pacific Northwest so I get a lot of miles in rain, some snow and occasionally sun. The shoes are very comfortable and provide excellent support. They dry out quickly, but if you live in a climate like mine, you are going to need a couple pairs and alternate. I start to get knee pain when my shoes start to go. These have done 7 months and I'm just now getting a twinge so it's time to swap them out. I think they are well worth the money and I'm okay with the wear life. I hope you get out and enjoy walking in these shoes.

Really fussy about trainers. I have a high instep. I’m usually an 8 1/2. Opted to got for a 9 and fit perfect. A bit tight initially but worn in and loosened up well. Suggest to go half a size to a size up.

Muy cómodas y elegantes. Los cordones no son de muy buena calidad. Los cambié por otros, de color amarillo, que le dan un toque de originalidad.

Perfect size. I have exact same shoe bought in-store for double the rate. That's no-brainer. I use this for daily walking. Comfortable walking. Been using the shoe for months now. All good.

Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung.
