Each time I receive them, the standard is the same. The quality of the product is great for the price. I wouldn't expect perfection here as it is simply string and tiny medals. That said, I've super glued the areas where the strings can become untied (CAREFULLY so that you can still open it), and have been very satisfied. Most of them need no super glue, but occasionally it does. Simply untie the first "loop," tighten, glue, and when dry, cut the ends off or melt it with a candle. That said, they are made in China so be aware of this when purchasing.
