In pretty short order many people mentioned using an adhesion promoter primer for bumpers. Several videos I watched made no mention of adhesion promoter, so I didn't consider it. I grabbed a can from the local parts store and gave it another go. After re-sanding and re-cleaning, I put down two light coats of adhesion promoter. The stuff dried very quickly and in under 10 minutes I started re-painting with the trim & bumper paint. Two light coats, about 10 minutes apart, followed by two slightly heavier coats. What a difference!! Smooth, even color with a slightly satin finish. Looks great! I really hope this stuff holds up in the Texas sun for at least a few years. The Caravan bumper took two-and-a-half cans of this paint and less than half a can of adhesion promoter. Lets say you got polish on the plastic or rubber or lets say it is several years old and faded. First wash area with automotive wash product, then dry in sun. Next purchase a grease and wax remover (Dupli-color brand CM543 is a good brand) clean area good and allow to dry. Take a clean cloth that does not leave lent and wipe off area. Tape off (automotive paint grade) and cover up large area not to be painted (spray paint will float with or without breeze) . Apply several lite coats instead of one heavy coat allowing each to dry each time. Once color is uniformed then remove tape and other materials covering the rest of vehicle. Once paint has dried let set in sun for several hours and do not wash vehicle for a few days. It will work **Q: Is it a flat black or gloss. Thanks** A: This is a flat black paint. Specifically used for side steps, door handles, and bumpers. Anything that was flat black before, will look really good afterward.
