S&M

The album comes exactly as you would expect. Nice thick vinyl, great photos, and best of all great sound! I have the DVD as well as the CD, this was a fathers day gift from my wife to me and so it completes the collection for me. This is by far my favorite album and in my opinion the best set I have heard Metallica do. Lots of hit songs as well as a new one, well, new in 1999 when they did the concert. Shipping package was perfect and there wasn't a ding or scratch anywhere to be found. If you not a fan of vinyl, get this on CD, MP3, or DVD, however you can, you wont be disappointed! As a 23 year old who hasn't bought a CD in a few years, why not start a vinyl collection? Makes for a great conversation piece and you can get most new albums on vinyl now a days. Face it, CD's are dead, Mp3's and itunes are the main way to get music, so get yourself a vinyl collection! Plus vinyl sounds better that cd and mp3 anyway!

This is a great album which I got for my son who is surprisingly into Metallica. I thought it wasn't delivered at first, but rechecked the Christmas stash and there it was. I'm sure he will love it as i did many years ago :)

This is just a great double CD set as it really brings the songs to a new form of life. I enjoyed all the songs and you can get even non-heavy metal fans to listen to it as there is an orchestra!

This fusion of two different worlds is absolute musical perfection. I was a young teen when this concert took place and I told myself that if it ever happened again I'd do whatever I had to to see it. Well it did 20 years later S&M2. I got tickets for both nights and it was incredible. Totally different show from this CD but still just as amazing.

First off major Metallica fan have been for years now, I remember hearing this two CD set in high school senior year 2000 and thinking this is amazing. Re listen to it yesterday after 20 years and still amaze me the music they made with S and M, but gave it only 4 stars because like some people have said package was done wrong. Very hard to flip the CD over to the second one after listening to the first CD. In closing still great music by the artist Metallica for all the classic old material, but also as a side note some of the same songs on here are on the S and M 2 two CD set and have a slight different sound to them see you for yourself by listening to the first S and M two CD set, then afterwards listen to the two CD set S and M 2.

The combination of Metallica with San Francisco Symphony Orchestra is unlike anything I have ever heard!

Prior to this I owned 0 Metallica albums. This is the best melding I have heard of orchestra and a metal band I have experienced. The sound is huge. The combination here is like peanut butter and milk chocolate. A lot of it sounds like the best James Bond movie music ever devised. The power of the symphony with the grind of Metallica is perfect. Orchestra, with power tools. Yes, you really need to own this. You really do.
