Great camera u loved it great for the price and good quality pictures, gets every detail, mostly your face, but you can put a light make up mode, but there’s no like high clear makeup face that you can put on it. But it’s really good honestly like it does make your skin look smooth but if you have any like pimples or something like it does show them the zoom on it is really good like the zoom in is also like kind of really detailed. And I was kind of scared about the video like audio sound but honestly, it sounds really good. It doesn’t sound like you’re under the water or anything like that and the video quality is also really good. And you can definitely tell it’s from a digital camera, which is what I wanted and then like the videos are kinda depending your settings and the place where you’re at they could be like vintage or they could be like kinda like just digital camera filtered. The camera itself is like really good quality depending on if you got it good used or really good used. I got it really good used and honestly like it looks new no scratches no nothing by. Do recommend to get like a screen protector because it kind of scratches bit easily. But the pictures you really honestly have to mess with the settings and you can’t keep it on one setting because depending on the place where you’re at if you’re inside outside, it would be different, but I honestly do not recommend auto settings because I like my pictures. Warmer and auto doesn’t give warm settings alot

The box includes the WX500 camera, AC adaptor, rechargeable battery pack, micro USB cable, and a wrist strap. I purchased an SDHC memory card and a case separately. I bought the WX500 over the HX90V because I don't think I'll need a pop-up viewfinder or the GPS function. I've heard that everything else is the same, so I might as well get the cheaper option. The camera itself isn't as light as I thought it would be, but it's light enough that I wouldn't mind carrying it everywhere. It's also thicker than I expected, but I'll get used to it. For everything it has to offer, I don't find the thickness or the weight as a big problem. I tried out the movie function, and it's nice. The camera can auto-focus pretty accurately and I love that it doesn't make any sound while focusing. The mic records pretty clearly too. I haven't recorded anything in a noisy environment yet, so I don't know how it'll be like in that situation. You can turn the small wheel on the top through each mode (10 total), and it explains what each setting is for. For example, the "Superior Auto" says "The device beautifully shoots automatically while reducing blurring and noise." It's going to be fun playing with the camera, but even with the descriptions- I'm not really sure when to use to each of the mode. There's not much dramatic difference between each mode. I found the picture effects, under camera settings, to be really fun- especially the partial color effect. It comes out B&W, except the one color that you choose. I was most excited about the screen that flips up. I was actually contemplating between the Sony WX500 and the Samsung NX Mini. I wanted the lenses to be built into the camera (not interchangeable), so I chose the WX500. I'm sure the NX Mini would've been lighter and slimmer, but I feel like the WX500 has more functions to play with. Anyways, the screen flips up well. It has just enough resistance that I can put it at any angle and it'll be stable. What I don't like is that I can't take a picture in selfie mode while looking at the screen because in the photo, it looks like I'm looking up at the sky. But even so, it's very convenient because I can finally position myself and anyone else in the photo. I thought about why there aren't any cameras with a screen that flips down because that would give the same feel as taking selfies on a smartphone. I guess it would look a little weird. I'd make one though, if I could. The 30x zoom is NICE. I took a picture of my mom from really far away, and it looked like I took it right in front of her. I don't know how much I'll use the zoom, but the quality overall is really good. If you're looking for a simple, light camera that has a screen that flips up- I think I would recommend the NX mini. If you're looking for a camera that has a screen that flips up, but also many other functions PLUS 30x zoom- I would recommend the WX500.

I've had this for about a year and love it. The zoom is incredible, makes a fantastic travel camera. The panorama mode is easy and intuitive. I use the PlayMemories app occasionally with my android phone to be able to post pics to social media, it connects with NFC and then I can select pics to move via wifi to the phone, pretty slick once I got used to how it works. The flip screen for selfies is nice, and the timer is easy to use for group pictures. The amount of time from hitting the power button to being able to shoot is surprisingly quick for having such a big lens to extend. My most recent trip was 5 days and like 75 pictures each day, the battery finally went down one bar by the end of the trip, I've never been able to actually run the battery down, holds a charge forever. My only gripe is that the camera itself is very slippery to hold onto. I bough some grip tape (search Amazon for GT-5000 Grip Tape) and cut little strips to put on the camera where I usually hold it and that made a world of difference.

I'm shocked at Sony for making such a terrible, useless camera and asking $328 for it. Every shot I took was noisy, blotchy and totally worthless. For $449 I could have had another Fuji X-E1 body with great picture quality. I wouldn't recommend this camera to my worst enemy. What's up Sony?

1 month in and the camera is lacking in a few area's that made me return the product back to Amazon. It's still a decent camera, hence the three star review, but it was not great in low light situations and didn't like automatic flash being so bright, really washed out photos (compared to previous Sony and Canon digital cameras I have owned). I was also getting an error message when I put in a new battery during the day that said media card needed to be restored, which scares you when you see that after taking pictures half the day. My pictures weren't deleted luckily, but I don't want to keep worrying about that error message popping up. I plan on purchasing either a Panasonic or Canon point and shoot with similar 30x zoom....

After I got my DSLR for hobby shooting years ago, I never bothered to get another nice point and shoot because my cell phone camera more than sufficed. But when an MLS team opened up a new stadium (DC United) in my town, I got season tickets. If you’re ever taken pictures at a professional sporting event with your phone, you quickly learn digital zoom is terrible. The stadium doesn’t allow detachable lenses, so the DSLR is out of the question. So I bought this fella purely based off of the positive reviews of its optical zoom which were glowing. And I have to tell you: The optical zoom lives up to the hype. Image stabilization is inconsistent, but good enough. You’ll notice how important stabilization is when you go 30x on a long distance target. Holding a rectangle in your hands is not natural, so if you adjust your hand ever so slightly, you have a blurry picture. But good news: You get used to holding the camera after a while and it becomes less of an issue. I’ve now taken to carrying this camera in my every day carry bag and stopped using my iPhone camera. The ability to upload photos from your camera to phone via the WiFi hotspot the camera makes is super convenient. I’d totally recommend this camera.

prompt delivery, new product. Took a while to roam through all the operations and potential, finally got it tuned just right and is essentially point and shoot. The definition is incredible, the telephoto is almost beyond belief for such a tiny camera. I got it for my wife, and it fits her hands -- is fumble-guaranteed tiny for my 6foot 2 inch frame. Image stabilization is phenomenal, can shoot at about 3 frames per second, and when you push the shutter release you get a photo (none of the old lag time noted!). A LOT of money for such a small device, but a FAIR PRICE after you see all the features in operation. Solves the issue (the reason we bought it) of "Oh, I wish I had my camera" -- just drop in a pocket -- even a shirt pocket -- and go adventuring.

Wow this is an awesome camera! I have spent days playing with it and the zoom on it is pretty incredible! Takes beautiful pics!!! I especially love that you can send the photos wirelessly to your phone, computer or tv. That's a bonus!! Easy to learn if you read instructions. I had a Nikon which I used 6 times and it suddenly would not work unless the usb AND power brick were attached (not plugged in wall just attached to camera), so picture that, your pretty Nikon with a short usb and power brick dangling from the side of it while you snap a pic. Ridiculous! the camera was barely used by only me. Nikon was no help and I refused to spend more money on it in repairs considering it was new! Also had issues with the battery draining fast while off, did the firmware update and still same issue. Wasted money on that brand. I reviewed a lot of cameras in this price field and decided to go with this Sony, it's awesome, I love it!!!

Easy to use. Exceptional quality in poor lighting. Telephoto function great for travel and sports. Some initial problems with uploading to smart phone but Sony support solved the problem for me. If you have an old smartphone, this is worth the extra space when travelling.

Good quality photos. Bought this to eventually manually adjust exposure etc.. Wish it had a viewfinder. Being able to lift the screen away from the back of the camera a useless feature for me
