Review: Incredible Visual History – An Absolute Steal! - I managed to snag a used copy of "When on Earth?" for under $4 on desertcart, and it is easily one of the best purchases I’ve made for my 7-year-old son. He is absolutely obsessed with it! The way this book uses detailed maps and timelines to visualize history is brilliant. Instead of just reading dates, my son can actually see how empires rose, how people moved, and where major events happened across the globe. It’s perfect for a visual learner and makes complex historical shifts easy to understand even for a Grade 2 student. The production quality of the DK Where on Earth? series is always top-notch, with vibrant illustrations that keep him engaged for hours. If you can find a deal like we did, don’t hesitate—it’s a goldmine of information that makes history feel like a grand adventure! Review: Love it - I really am impressed with this book. I wasn’t expecting much because it clearly said it was for kids. But I love it and I’m 55. I am also ADHD and only want the surface info on some of these topics. Some of them I want to dive deeper and will use other tools to research, but this book gives a great simple overview of so many world history topics. That is what I’m interested in — a simple intro into a wide range of history topics. And this fits that perfectly. So far I have devoured the maps. That’s a tiny part of the book but they are easy to read and detailed. I like that it starts with pre-history and moves into the Bronze age, writing, cave drawings, etc. I’m very happy with the book.

Looks like it’s going to be a great book!
I just got this book and another one for my grandsons, (6 and 8) who are really enjoying History this year and they wanted a History book we could read. The pictures are like 3-D, there seems to be a wealth of information in it, I know they are going to really like them. We read a lot but I think we will be reading even more!

Different Cover Than Advertised
The copy of this book that I ordered in Summer 2026 came with a different cover. I don't know if the inside has changed or not. But my sons enjoyed it.
