When you say you won't provide assays of your products to "honor our ancestors," that is a massive red flag. Will you start providing these?

Due to the uniqueness of this product, we plan to have a nutrient assay for our Wild Caught Fish Eggs available within the next month or so. As for our other products, one may find nutrient averages for various organs and glands from current published literature.

Do we know how much vitamin D3 and K2 are in one dosage?

Accepted Answer

We believe in the ways of our early ancestors — this, in part, is how we honor them... our early ancestors never had access to a nutrient assay nor would they had even known to care about the very few known "nutrition facts" that appear on labels today. We believe that the real nourishing magic comes from the glandular-specific proteins, signaling molecules, peptides, enzymes and cofactors, etc... all things absent on nutrition panels. As such, we don't regularly perform assays with our organs and glands (nor) fish eggs because they exist in perfect harmony with nature... they exist in harmony with the ways of our ancestors.

Fish eggs are a nutrient-dense, whole food product that were highly prized by our early ancestors. The recommended serving for this particular product (6 capsules) is roughly equivalent to about one-tenth to one-fifth (1/5) ounce of fresh, raw fish eggs that you’d get straight from the wild-caught Hoki fish. Some very credible sources (including the Weston A Price Foundation) have funded analysis by UBE Laboratories and found that fish eggs contain a heaping 17,000 IUs of vitamin D per tablespoon. Translation: that puts vitamin D estimates at roughly 3,200 IUs per serving (6 capsules).

We are performing further assays over the next 16 months that we can publicly share with confidence. In the interim, we hope this information is helpful.

Question 3

Even with the presence of astaxanthin in this product, what is to prevent the delicate pufas from oxidizing?

Accepted Answer

Because our Fish Eggs product is a freeze-dried, whole-food matrix found in phospholipid form, oxidation and rancidity issues should not be a concern. Standard fish oils lack the phospholipid complex that carries EPA and DHA through the cell membranes into the cells. Instead, standard fish oils only contain omega-3 fatty acids in the less-beneficial forms of ethyl esters or triglycerides. Standard fish oils are also naturally low in antioxidants which makes them highly susceptible to spoilage and they can go rancid quickly.

Finally, our most recent biological assays show that rancidity metabolites were undetectable.

Question 4

Are there traces of mercury found in fish eggs?

Accepted Answer

To be sure, it's likely that every animal and plant food contains traces of mercury including a vast array of elements, metals and minerals. That said, the elegant design and balance of nature has it figured out for us. As long as you are consuming more selenium than mercury, there shouldn't be cause for concern. It's only when the mercury load is greater than selenium do we start to run into trouble due to the inhibition of selenoenzyme actions that prevent mercury from causing oxidative damage. Rest assured, most ocean fish such as Hoki contain a much greater selenium content than mercury.
