It connects to either modem or router on one end and transmits signals using the electrical wiring. Hope this helps. **Q: Dear Sir, Can this product be used to configure with Airtel 4G LTE in India ?** A: if your Airtel connection comes with an Ethernet connection you can connect it with the 'transmitter' end, however if you are planning on using the Airtel 4G USB you will need some other device **Q: Can I connect this to a surge protector one wall socket to many power points kind of setup ?** A: Yes !: as long as it is connected in the same power line as the modem. (like, if the midem gets switched off by MCB, TP LINK adapter also should get switched off. It is not enough if it is in the same electric meter: should be in the same line **Q: Does the product have standard power Plug for the indian electric socket ?** A: The two pins are flat and parallel to each other (ie. US type) and not round but works perfectly with Anchor Roma or equivalent used in India that supports flat pins. Have been using these for more than 6 months now. But don't buy the power line modem with WiFi built in. The WiFi is useless for me die to a rouge/buggy DHCP server. Had I known I would have bought the Eth to Eth adapter w/o the WiFi. Rest of it is fantastic.
