Great product, saved a lot of money with this and modified this tool to be able to repair CBR 600 spark plug thread.
Used this to repair blown-out spark plug threads on my 1995 Honda CBR 600 F3. After my spark plug blew out I was stuck looking for a solution to repair the threads. I avoided removing the engine or cylinder head, was able to make the repair with the help of a right angle drill attachment with everything in tact except a few small items. Had to remove the side fairings, lower the radiator a couple inches and move the ram air duct forward for clearance. I'll try and do a full write up on the repair and link to it, but for now let me give my .02 cents on this product. Definitely, as others mentioned, use the tap to chase the threads in the blue plastic installer handle. Also had to grind the blue installer down to fit inside my spark plug tube, and taped a small tube of pvc to extend it enough so I could hold it while it was down in the spark plug tube. I thought the product worked pretty well, definitely saved a lot of money compared to a time sert ($250+), or a heli-coil ($125) and still seemed like a really good repair as the bike is running great!

This worked fine for my application
This worked fine for my application. I needed to purchase the drill bit separately. Unless the proper sized hole has been drilled beforehand, you will need one too. Be careful to first tap the threads in the inserting tool before you put a coil in it. The first coil I tried got stuck. But after I used the tap to clean out the threads it worked as advertised.

The Coils in the kit are not the wrong size. Read the instructions!
This kit worked well for me. I was surprised when I took out one of the coils and tried to thread the M10 bolt into it and it seemed WAY TOO BIG! I saw another review on here where someone said they sent the wrong size, but if you just read the instructions, you have to insert it into the blue piece first. It actually compacts it before you thread it in. I would recommend this product for the price and also for the quality. Remember to use a little locktite before you put the coil in so it doesn't come out later. Used on a 1999 Ducati Monster Engine Cover.

because the friction was too great and it straightened the tang used for screwing in ...
Product is similar to helicoil brand, which I've used many times. It did work, but I had to lubricate the threads prior to inserting the thread coil into the drilled/tapped hole, because the friction was too great and it straightened the tang used for screwing in the thread insert. This made the first insert worthless, because the insert had not yet bottomed out. After lubricating the next insert, it worked fine. I had to wash out the lubricant with brake cleaner after it was in place, and then used a cotton swab to coat the insert with thread locker. After repairing the threads, I assembled the part I was working on and torqued the fastener to 59 foot-pounds, with no issues. The repair held fine. A decent repair. Normally, I would use Time-Sert products for thread repair, but this is an unusual size for a bolt/thread pitch and the Time-Sert was a few days away, and time was of the essence. I've since purchased the Time-Sert for this application. It is a decent product, outside of the slightly flimsy insert tang. I would use it again.

Product as advertised. Shipped as expected. Please note however that due to the size of the blue plastic insert tool this will not work on recessed bolt or spark plug holes, especially if the head has tall (over 1/2 inch) cooling fins. I got it to work by trimming the plastic part to fit my application. I do not see this as the sellers fault, just a design difference I did not expect. Long and short it DOES work. Thanxs.

Penny wise and pound foolish
Peice of junk, spend the extra money for the real helicoil. I took a risk to see if it was any good and the threads were no good, the spark plug wouldn't go in. After 3 coils finally it worked. Never had that problem with the real deal. Trust me spend the extra money don't buy off brand junk

Lots of better 20 dollar sets out there
No handle minus one star, notch on the pusher is too small, metal is too soft, threads on it?! Claiming it is made in the usa but with metals made somewhere else? Minus 2 stars. This what i did: i bought the real heli-coil brand and bought a pusher with a handle. Did the job on the first try. J have done this a couple of times with time sert - very costly set-so i am not a total noob.
