Great replacement element.
The heating element was packaged well, and was delivered on time. I purchased the two pack not knowing the lower element I needed was a different length. The element fixed my problem and makes good hot water.

BE CAREFUL......task specific
oem from Rheem used for Marathon 85 gallon water heater N.B you need an 1 7/8 socket ....not a standard water heater element socket 1 3/4 elements are task specific upper is different than lower thermos are special also normal thermo disc will NOT work. there is a retainer loop on the upper thermo that has to go under a hook on top element housing this is upper 4500 watts

Good Rheem factory quality OEM water heater element. Works on Marathon water heaters. Easy to install by simply screwing it into the tank with a wrench.

Received a used non-working item

Element requires 1 7//8 inch socket. Trust me
The normal inch and 1/2 socket doesn’t work. The old one lasted 7 years before it failed. Copper does that…the lower element is titanium…it hasn’t failed yet. Rheem makes a socket for it. They failed to mention that to me from tech support. One of the techs actually said it was a 11/2 inch socket…it cost me 22 dollars but lowes had a socket that size. That socket has a 3/4” drive remember that too. The old element came out easy..
