Does the led change to a solid color once fully charged? because mine are blinkiing erratically and inbetween colors, so is it faulty? or is it ok?

When plugged in the charging cycle shows red constant handset on the front then changes to blue when charge cycle complete. Neither one flashes. So could be either a fault with the handset or the unit

The charger is red when charging and turns blue when charged. I would say that your controls are charged enough or it would turn red.

Will this work with the controller upside down, if the charging port is on the top of the controller?

You're connecting the charger wrong. Look at your controller with the PS symbol in view . The connecting point to add it to the charger is below that symbol. The charging point on the controller top is for connecting a USB to your PS4 directly. The Cable that came with your charger has USB connector and a micro connector, put the micro into the back of your charger. Now you have a free USB that you can put in any mains plug such as a phone plug adaptor. Or you can plug it into your PS4. Your PS4 has a weakness, when you connect a charger to it if you don't continue to play with it it wil detect it's not in use and shut down . You can charge your controller off the mains there should be a blue image of a controller and a red image when connected properly .

I can't get the new ps4 controller to fit onto the slot?

I have a PS4 pro.i have old controller dual shock 4 use with PS4 pro and push it down on the charger no problems.i got new dual shock 4 in the last few months and it fits down fine on the charger.so I don't know why it doesn't fit
