Have to admit, I was sceptical. However, after only 3 days, my lawn has responded fantastically! I had 5 or 6 brown spots that I thought I would have to reseed. The rest of the lawn was growing unevenly with parts barely growing and other spots growing normally. In most places in the lawn, I could only push a screwdriver into the soil 2 or 3 inches. My lawn was so hard and bumpy my lawnmower was bouncing around while mowing. I applied the Covington Liquid Lawn Aerator just 3 days ago at 32oz for 6000 square feet. I watered it in with my garden hose sprayer as recommended. Lucky for me, that evening, we received an unexpected 1" rainfall. I think that may have contributed to the product working so quickly for me. Anyway, 3 days later, it looks like I have a new lawn! The brown spots have all but disappeared. The entire lawn looks lush and green and feels soft and cushiony under foot. I can push my 6" screwdriver into the soil up to the handle with minimal effort. I have spent hundreds of dollars on lawn services, fertilizers, etc. , but the Covington Liquid Lawn Aerator improved my lawn more than all of that. After my purchase, the Covington company emailed me to ensure that I was satisfied with the product and offered expert help and advice should I require it. Truly a remarkable product and company. I should say that perhaps my results are better than normal, perhaps because of the rain we received. The accompanying literature stresses that lawn rejuvenation is a long term effort, but they do have a guarantee. I am very pleased with my purchase and will be using Covington Liquid Lawn Aerator from now on.

Works as advertised. Great product. It takes care of the thatch and breaks up the hard deposits under the grass. I believe this used to be called Soil Doctor. Contents looks identical.

I looked around and believed this would be the product but it just fell short. I don’t know if it was the ground itself, but it did not penetrate as well as I had expected. It was less expensive than I could have gotten it locally and was easy to use but I would not get it again

UPDATE: 9/28/2020: Upping to 3 stars .While I can't endorse the product yet I did call Covington Naturals and their customer service was excellent. When applying the product you do not have to saturate the area, which I don't feel that I was doing and I still did not get the coverage. Covington admitted that their instructions could be better for homeowners. They offered to send out another bottle which I will apply at a lower setting and will move much faster as they assured me the biologicals in this aerator will still get into the lawn and spread. They assured me that you should be able to get the coverage. We shall see, but I can definitely endorse their customer service. Stay tuned for another update once I get the new bottle. 9/27/2020: 1 Star. The product explanation papers that came with the product say to use 4-6 oz for 12000 sq ft of coverage. It says most fixed sprayers are set at 6 oz per gallon. So I set my Ortho sprayer to 6 oz. I ran through about half of the product over maybe 200 sq ft. So I looked at the back of the bottle and it says to use 2 oz per gallon!. I used the other half of the bottle quite rapidly as well. I think 12000 sq ft would have about covered my lawn, but I'm lucky if I got a total of 800 sq ft out of this product using the recommended settings. That said no I have no idea at all if the product works and probably won't find out because all the product is in a small area. I sure hope it doesn't harm my lawn! VERY DISAPPOINTED and confused with the use of this product. I really wanted this to be a good solution for loosening up my soil.

Even though I just applied it, I’m basing my review on how easy it was to apply and whether I saw any benefit to my lawn. First I waited for a good rainfall to soak my lawn and help it recover from drought stress. Then I used the red Ortho hose end sprayer. I set it to the max setting. If you do this, make sure you move quickly so it gets applied evenly. After a few days I could tell that my lawn was taking advantage of the nutrients because it was greening up. You might say it was also due to the recent rain, but my neighbor’s lawn did not bounce back as quickly as mine did. Also, I can tell by how it smells that there are quality ingredients in the jug. Smells like molasses and seaweed. Similar to other organic/all natural liquids on the market that are way more expensive. I will update my review in the fall after the growing season is over to determine if the ground is less compacted. My backyard gets constant foot traffic from my kids playing sports. Not sure if this will replace core aeration. Time will tell.
